Instant Messenger doesn't stay where I put it.
When I move the Instant Messenger window, it doesn't remain if I resize the parent/container window. It sticks to the right side of the window and resizes from top to bottom. I prefer a smaller window that only shows a few of the people I mostly communicate with.

Inappropriate? When this happens does the entire desktop look like it zooms and you need to refresh to get it back to the right size?
Just trying to characterize the problem, as I have intermittently seen something similiar.
-
Inappropriate? No, nothing out of the ordinary. All I do is select the Instant Messenger icon on the desktop, this opens the Meebo window where it gives me the choice of 4, AIM, Yahoo, MySpace, MSN. I have an MSN account that I use. I sign into that which then displays the stupid Meebo blog and their idiotic advertisements (pardon my dislike for the whole Meebo puke). At that point I am signed into MSN messenger which works fine, but it's inside that Meebo window. Then I resize the messenger window to where I want it. When I then resize the container window, the MSN window snaps back to the right side of the container and resizes from top to bottom.
I hope my description makes sense to you. -
Inappropriate? The first image is the moved item, the second is after I resize the container window.

Inappropriate? Can you tell me if this behaves the same if you go direct to meebo but not from in the webtop?
Trying to find out if this is Meebo or us that is creating the condition.

I detect that you don't like meebo :)
Alternately you can create webtop Icons using these addresses:
http://webmessenger.msn.com/
http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/
I use the Yahoo one all the time, just found the MSN one and tired it.
Note: For the MSN one I had to log in outside of the webtop and copy the full session url then paste it into the ICONs property's address.
BTW thanks for the help ......

Inappropriate?I tried that but it still opens a new window outside of the goEverywhere session. It just doesn't work very well.
-
Inappropriate?Hmm, I am using the web version with FF so perhaps if works differently with IE?
Thats probably why I'n not seeing the Meebo problem.
I will check on these?
I’m confused

Inappropriate? You get that I don't like Meebo. I presumed that I wasn't being too subtle about that. :)
Honestly it isn't Meebo per se, just that to get rid of the garbage that they add to the window I have to sign up with them. I refuse to do that.
It's my opinion that if you are going to create this virtual space that it's unprofessional to use these types of applications that require further creation of accounts that I didn't buy into in the first place.
I realize that I am very (extremely) picky about this kind of stuff, but the feeling I get is that the goEverywhere developers aren't being picky enough. I'm not trying to be harsh on you guys, I'm also a developer and I understand the work it takes, but someone there needs to be a bit more particular than pushing things like Zillo and Meebo. -
Inappropriate? It's very possible that the issue shows up in IE and not FF. I don't use FF and probably never will. Sorry, another one of my gliches. It's time to use the mainstream stuff. I like the IE7 interface, I don't like FF.

Inappropriate?I better understand the problem.
webmessenger higjacks the web top in both browsers.
The URL with the session only worked for me because it entered on the other side of the highjack while I had another session running.
Highjacking is one of the industry-wide technical problems we are trying to solve to make this technology even more useful.
I will try and on board this application into safe places and that might fix it, I will let you know if it does.
-----------------------------
I was a IE user and switched from IE to FF because I found it to be more stable across more online applications and I like the library of plug-ins. But everyone has legitimate preferences.
We don't mind picky people that is why we are in beta. We only put Meebo on the desktop because it was the only IM that would aggregated accounts online (that we could find).
My guess is that as this cloud thing progresses we will be forced to get many accounts (like most of us have today) from multiple services. GoEverywhere is trying to make it so that you can get to them from one entry point, once you set them up. We know we have more work to do.......
We don't force you to create any accounts that you don't want to use on the workspace. Not being able to delete them was a temporary restriction that we now have removed. Only create those accounts that you want and organize them with safe and open places.
Keep it coming :)
I’m working on it

Inappropriate? Thanks for the patience. I know that I am picky and very opinionated. I'll try not to get too hot under the collar. :)
I’m trying to be more patient
