Purpose of goEverywhere?
So it is unclear to me the purpose of goEveryWhere. Is it a site that you connect and in turn it maintains your user credentials to all the sites this site points to? What's the difference when I already have most of the sites bookmarked or a click away having my browser remembering the credentials if I select to do so.

Some power internet users are comfortable managing their online experience -- but others find it difficult to keep track of all the web sites they use, the credentials required to access them, and the settings and other state that helps them be productive. This is particularly true for folks who have to use multiple computers (e.g., college students who regularly access the internet from an arbitrary kiosk in the library, family members who have a pool of computers they share, etc.).
In a corporate environment, navigating the ever-evolving intranet to report expenses, perform HR tasks, request IT help, and so forth can also be a challenging task.
The goEverywhere service unifies all the state and settings that connect a user to the internet, and makes that information fully portable, so you can access it from any device. Symantec's experience with security and storage allows us to add value in single sign-on and storage mash-ups. We believe it delivers very well on Symantec's brand promise: confidence in a connected world.

Inappropriate?Still don't get the point and feel cheated.
Requires creating accounts for Zoho, box, meebo. That is not mentioned anywhere on the web site.
As if that was not enough, requires a separate account for providing feedback. I had typed in a response and signed up with my passport ID. On sign up, my comments had disappeared.
This is freaking crazy!!!
There is no real single sign-on. I can do the same using keepass on my flash drive.
Guys, you need to step out of your corporate offices and take a walk in the real world. You are not meeting requirements of real customers. Don't let engineers or CTO office drive the show. Talk to some real people, otherwise startups will eat your lunch.
I’m sad for the team

we do not require you to create accounts for any application, if you don't like zoho then remove it from your workspace and put a link to whatever you already have an account to. If you don't see an application you often use as part of our safe places then let me know and I will add it. We are working hard to create a process that will allow users to do this themselves
I agree having to create an account for feedback is 'Freaking Crazy' but again this is a Beta Project and we appreciate your feedback -
Inappropriate?I completely agree. If I have to sign up for other services like Meebo, Zoho, etc. then this "single user sign on" thing has really failed. I use Symantec's Password Safe to maintain all my links, usernames, and passwords and this is far more effective, and to do things I need, I don't have to sign up for other services that I don't want. Someone here needs to speak with a customer and stop letting engineers design this.
I’m very disappointed

what are you going to do when you loose your computer or it crashes or let's say you don't have access to your computer how will you get to your links, passwords, & usernames -
Feeling a bit like the point was missed. In a nutshell:
Single sign-on => no 3rd party products
Why are we relying a 3rd party products to do this? Because we don't have our own? Then what's the point of this? How secure is this really when we are relying on other's software?
So if I don't have another single sign-on software and I don't want to sign up for Meebo, then what? -
Inappropriate? Not a problem for me. I do two things.
1. I keep a copy of all my links on a flash drive so I wouldn't lose anything there.
2. I use PasswordSafe which keeps all my links associated with usernames/passwords. Also on my flashdrive, with several backups.
I know you're argument to this will be somethings along the lines "That's what the goEverywhere is for, to manage all these logins". Sorry but it doesn't do it when I have to use things like Meebo or Zoho. That's a very poor step because I have to sign up for something else that I don't want.
The response to that comment, which I have brought up, was "We don't force you to sign up for anything". Well, ok, you don't. However, if I don't sign up then you don't have any mechanism to save my links, usernames, and passwords anyway. What do we do next, that could actually work in goEverywhere? goEverywhere does not seem to have a mechanism for touting single user login without using something like Meebo.
I’m blah

Inappropriate?jimmy,
I totally agree with you. In an event like a HD crash things will be a bit difficult. However, there are other tools that people might already use. Like del.iso.us for bookmarks. Now that said, The idea to have a centralized portal is a key for this product. Yeah I have change my stance because of a revelation I had the other day while thinking whether to use quicken online or mint.com (thinking about security).
My conclusion is that Symantec is way more secure than my wireless connection at home. So if I connect to my bank from home I believe I have a greater risk to be hacked than a reputable company connecting to my bank. Thus adding another company in the mix like Symantec gets even greater feel of security.
