Suggest applications to users.
When I first log on to goeveryware.net the goFYI box appears and updates me with news about goeveryware.net. What if it also recommended based on my usage patterns different services that are offered by the web top. I picture the list of application growing significantly as time progresses and I already find that I don't know everything that is possible on the web top. Also there could be a newly added section as well as a sponsored application section. Promoting these applications with a brief description would help peek my interest and if I like the applications keep me coming back for more.

Inappropriate?Enhancement: #240
As a user, would you be willing to provide a profile of yourself to assist in providing that type of input to each user? Do you think other users would assist as well or feel uncomfortable with tracking of usage patterns? -
Inappropriate?Personally I think usage patterns have been tracked for a long time it is kind of the price we pay with online services, and seems to be an almost accepted fact. Google has been doing similar things for years. Amazon, EBay, and many other such services do similar things. I would try to stay away from such terminology as it gives the feeling of invaded privacy. I think you will have to have a detailed privacy statement to ensure privacy. I think there is starting to be a shift in online privacy with trusted sites such as Google and Amazon, Google even has a service that can hold and store your medical records. If you could gain the trust of your users then I don't feel that they would be opposed to offering usage data in exchange for an improved user experience. And on the flip side the usage data would greatly help the aim and focus of the project as well as increasing the operatunity to partner with others. Just some of my thoughts and opinions
