Cannot edit a "need"

I added a "need" to an opportunity using Firefox. However the dreaded "?" showed up throughout my description. When I tried to edit using Firefox, it allowed me to modify the description field, however the other fields did not contain the previous information. Also, I could not edit the other field information (need, count, date, etc.) & I could not save the changes.
