Changing Global Metrics Doesn't Update Reports
A custom metric does not get updated in the reports when a change is made to the Metric Definition. Neither the calculation nor the name change is reflected in the report.
I think an argument could be made either way for updating or leaving as it was. You could argue that a report was setup a certain way so it shouldn't change. But if a Global Metric calculation is changed, I would want that change to filter down to all reports.
As an example, we have event count and event count where duration is > some number. If I change that number in my metric definition, I'd like all reports with that customer global metric to be updated as well.
The name change also does not find its way into the reports. If I click, What, I do see the new name the application knows to show that box checked since it is in the report. However, in the report itself, the name remains as the original name.

Inappropriate?Hi Nathan,
This is a really interesting use case that we've debated internally, and as you mention, there are strong arguments on both sides. A key factor in the current implementation was that if a Global Metric is deleted, then this shouldn't "break" all reports that were created using the metric.
However, in the modification use case you describe, it's clear the opposite behavior would be more beneficial. I will definitely bring this up with the crew and explore ways and options of dealing with us. If you have any additional suggestions regarding this topic, please let us know!
Thanks!
I’m thankful
