Google not indexing new posts/content Last reply on May 15, 2008 07:18.

Okay before i begin, let me give you some background history. I run a very popular Wordpress powered blog called eGMCarTech (http://www.egmcartech.com. First my traffic had a sudden drop in January 2008 from Google. I finally got a hold of someone at Google and they told me that basically 50% of my content was not being indexed due to being on a shared server and that the server was blocking resources Google needed to crawl and index my site.

So I switched to MediaTemple (an amazing hosting company) on a dedicated server in end of April 2008. Moved my whole website there and started using a plugin called Google Sitemap XML (http://www.arnebrachhold.de/projects/...). Great plugin which creates a sitemap and pings Google every time you write a new post.

After that every article I wrote started showing up on Google within 20 mins. It was beautiful. Even my old content, which according to my Google Webmaster's account had over 2,000 pages with errors, got indexed and the errors went down to 128. Even my pagerank went from 4 to 5! I was having the time of my life.

Now here is the problem, starting May 12th of 2008, every article I've written is NOT showing up on Google. All of the sudden new content is not getting indexed. I made no major changes to the code besides using Disqus (disqus.com) as my new commenting system. I checked my Google Webmasters account and that says that Google last visited my site for a crawl on May 10th, and the number of errors went down from 128 to 58. I just checked Google Webmasters again and it says Google came by on the 13th. However none of my new content that I've written after May 12th is getting indexed! It used to get indexed like 20 mins after i wrote it and now its just not showing up at all. Not only that my old content seems to appear and disappear every now on then from Google.

Traffic is still stable and PageRank is still 5. robots.txt file is good and so is the sitemap.

    Can someone PLEASE help?

A new sense to adsense :)

This combines three ideas into one. First idea, shared earlier hear, have a social networking scheme through Google contacts. If they are in your address book they are in your social network. No more facebook, no more shag space (myspace), just google, sweet and simple. Second idea, allow an aggregation of all your friends bookmarks. Why? Third idea, if the second idea is made anonymous (you don't know who's bookmark it is), you can link it with adsense and let the friend get paid for bookmarking it, if that website is enrolled in adwords.

    Google spam reports ignored?

I have reported spam in Google.de search results many times for this particular example:

    google.de (German)
    search string: billiger flug usa

    search result url: http://www.google.com/search?hl=de&q=...

As you can see, one of the first results is www.flywest.de

If you take a look at this page, you will find nothing but one single graphic (.gif file) and only 6 words content.
But what you can't see is a whole lot of hidden text and links to doorway pages in the footer of this particular page.

Now, why are my several spam reports (I started reporting a year ago) regarding this site being ignored by Google.de?

    What's going on with Google?

Don't you have the feeling that Google is deteriorating as a whole? I've been using Google Custom Search since some time and I am experiencing problems with their service and they just don't seem to be doing anything about them. In the Google support group on Google Groups there are, on average, 4 complaints daily about a custom search engine not working and this has been so for a few weeks. This is not the quality one would expect from Google, I would expect this only from a third-rate company. What to say about Google Groups then - I can't figure out why they created this service on the first place, it's so basic and still lacks some key features and its visual design is appalling. And no improvement is to be seen. Is Google losing speed and innovation spirit due its huge size?

    Google search - getting better?

Is googling doing anything to improve their search? I feel there are few or no improvements on their core-product and I am waiting for a revolution! (Cause, honestly, 120 000 results are too many and many of the top-results are very irrelevant)

Sudden traffic drop from Google - some content not being indexed anymore Last reply on April 07, 2008 14:37.

I own a very popular blog called eGMCarTech (http://www.egmcartech.com) that covers the automotive industry. Through September 07 - December 07, we were getting a huge amount of Google traffic, about 3,000 - 4,000 visitors a day from Google to be exact. However for some reason on January 8th, our traffic dropped to about 500 - 600 a day from Google. We've been trying to figure out the problem ever since but can't find a solution.

Not only that, some of our new content does not seem to get indexed by Google. In the past when we used to write an article, it would be indexed within minutes, now we'd be lucky to get indexed at all.

Also, according to Google Webmasters Tool, we have over 1762 URLS that are in the NOT FOUND section and aren't being indexed.

Can someone from Google please help. We're dying here.
