YouTube is a very vibrant social media networking service that allows diverse users to interact with each other via sharing videos through bookmarking favorites, creating categorized playlists, and commenting on each other online videos!
labs would bring new functionality to google calendar not seen before and cause all calendar apps online to be pushed forward to be more innovative in order to compete.
Instead of videos I get "Youtube we're sorry, this video is no longer available" on all videos, even with "featured" videos von YouTube main page. I installed the the newest flash player. Doesn't help. I get this in Firefox 2 and IE7.
It should be a good idea send one or more contacts as a vCard (or hCard) or add my personal information as a vCard (or hCard) under the signature.
this feature should be able to open microformats founded in web and add it directly in gmail's address book.
I can't begin to say how much the google services has made my life easier. I use gmail for storing my school work and I've been loving it for years, I list my university classes in google calendar with SMS reminders every morning (no more looking up what room I'm going to!), I write my papers on google docs (no more crashing!), I use Reader to follow all my feeds (it's far superior) and I occasionally use notebook (sad that you closed it) for saving quotes and bits of code that might come in handy later.
All and all, I love Google and all of the services you offer. You guys really know how to make stuff intuitive and great.
Why do my Youtube videos take a long time to load (3-4 minutes) when the videos on a computer sharing the same connection and using the same browser load instantly?
It doesn't matter if I use Firefox or IE the video still takes an eternity to load. I have a Gateway laptop with 1gb ram 1.6Ghz processor running windows xp sp3.
YouTube videos have been taking a lot longer to load, for the past month or so. I can remember when the video would start playing almost immediately when I clicked Play, but now it takes up to 20 seconds to load first. It's not a huge problem, but it's a nuisance.
It shouldn't be a connection issue because Vimeo and Viddler, for example, still start playing almost immediately. Same thing happens in FIrefox & Chrome.
With much fanfare You Tube informed me that my organization Jazz Bridge, a nonprofit that aids jazz musicians in crisis, had been chosen to have a nonprofit You Tube Channel. I was in seventh heaven until I tried to sign up and a glitch occurred which did not allow me to sign up our organization as a nonprofit. I tried to email support@youtube.com to no avail. I even tried to call Google to get someone, anyone on the phone to help. It is unconscionable that You Tube encouraged people to apply for their nonprofit channels and then did not provide ANY customer support for that new outreach. To treat charities like this is abominable. Now what could have been a wonderful venue to get help for ailing jazz musicians without health insurance has turned into a headache. I'm still hoping that someday You Tube will grow a conscience and fulfill what it promised to the nonprofits that took the time to apply for their "generosity." What a joke they played on defenseless people who really needed the help they were promising.
