Why does it take so long for my Blackberry to get Gmail messages?

I just switched the Blackberry service over to Gmail's IMAP server and now I get messages like 15-20 minutes after they're received in the browser.

With POP3 I was getting messages on my phone before they even hit my computer.

Let me know how to optimize this because I'm mega frustrated right now.

I use Gmail in the browser and a Blackberry to read most of my messages, so what's the real advantage of enabling IMAP?

OK, first of all, Gmail IMAP = awesome. Question: Should I have my Inbox or "All Mail" configured for offline use? If I use both will I just be downlaoding doubles of every message?
