Do I use renewable energies when consuming Google products?
Where does Google's electricity supply come from? Can I be assured to trust in Google's "green" corporate policies? I have heard that one "click" on google.com results in a lot of energy consumption (excluding my computer's power supply). Where does this energy come from? Is it renewable energy? How can I know where it comes from?

Inappropriate? The report you heard about the energy used by doing a Google search is an urban legend, started by one inaccurate newspaper article. Here's the actual data:

Additionally, approximately one third of the electricity used at our headquarters is generated onsite using solar panels. You can watch the graphs on this site and monitor the output minute by minute:

Thank you Neil for answering my question. I am glad to hear that Google is using "green" energy to provide their power demands. But is one third of the electricity used at your headquarters generated onsite actually enough to be "green"? I think there is a lot more to do! What about the other two thirds? I think you are heading towards the right direction, but I would be more satisfied if Google would use its influence in order to be a true forerunner in the application of renewable resources. -
Inappropriate?Correct. That is why google.org is funding the RE < C project which aims to make renewable resources more cost effective than coal:

If successful, it will affect the whole world, not just our corporate power grid.
