Get rid of "on behalf of" when sending from external accounts.
Many other e-mail solution providers offer the ability to send from external accounts but they do not add the "header info" that Gmail adds that forces applications like Outlook to add a very misunderstood "on behalf of" message in the e-mail header.
I know that this does not occur with Gmail for Google Apps so it must be possible. Please do something about this so I can continue to use Gmail for all of its great features.

Inappropriate?Yes, we need this feature. At least to those of us who use aliases through Google Apps. (Ex: I use an address hosted on smileybarry.com so I wouldn't have to reveal my full name to anyone who contacts me (that I reply to).)

Inappropriate? This is the most annoying 'feature' of gmail. How can Google be so persistent in keeping this alive, with complaints around the globe for almost 2 years now. Definitely a way to propagate the gmail service. Completely useless, since every single retard in this world knows both Google and Gmail.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? The Gmail team heard your request for another option that wouldn't show "on behalf of" loud and clear, and now there's a new option that does just that. Check out the Gmail blog for more info: http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2009/07...

Mmm, I was really hoping for the final solution, not some workaround that solves it for the web based emailers among us. I really like to use a mail program and this solution was already available to me as such. But the trouble is, of course, when sending using another smtp server, that I won't get my full email repository available online. And that's one of the major features of virtually unlimited disk space...
