gmail forwarding extremely slow
I have my normal email address forwarding to gmail because gmail has a great spam filter. Four days ago I noticed that my messages were coming in 6 hours to 24 hours late and not everything was forwarding to gmail as usual. It used to come in instantaneously and now it's ridiculously slow. I have not adjusted any settings....it just became un-useably slow one day and hasn't been the same since. Any advice as to what caused this?

Inappropriate? And you haven't installed the new Gmail? We've heard a lot of complaints of Gmail being slow in general since the latest release and people have seen improvements when they reverted back to the last version. Firebug has also seemed to be a culprit.
I’m not sure if this is helpful

Inappropriate?nope, I never installed the new gmail. It literally happened overnight and I changed no settings :(
I’m about to ditch gmail alltogether

Inappropriate?Huh. Bizarre. I'll see if anyone else might have insight.

Inappropriate?I have several email addresses forwarding into my main account (including two other gmail accounts) and I sometimes notice delays for some messages to arrive (I know they're delays because other associates are getting the same message far earlier). It seems to even out fairly quickly, which I interpret as Gmail's messages queues getting temporarily backed up and then getting caught up.

Inappropriate?i've heard from several people that this was a problem on gmail's server end recently -- so the only solution might be to wait for them to fix it.
for what it's worth, gmail's uptime is pretty remarkable for a product with that level of scale. i know it can be frustrating when it's down, but i just think that's worth pointing out (as somebody who knows how hard it can be when our own web service falls short...)
I’m rebooting our servers

Inappropriate? Thanks everyone! Guess I'll just wait it out!

Inappropriate?what is the spam filter on the other account, try forwarding to another email address to discover is the problem is with gmail or the outgoing/forwarding mail server.
