GMail needs IMAP fetching
GMail should be able to fetch mail via IMAP just like it will for POP. This will allow me to get my school's mail in GMail. I know I could enable forwarding and I've tried that, but my school's mail server frequently gets blacklisted because of junk mail that gets forwarded along with legitimate mail. This results in me getting my emails DAYS after I would have otherwise received them.

Inappropriate?Yes! I need GMail to access other IMAP email accounts as well so that I can access the email folders on those accounts from the GMail web app. This is what is keeping me from using GMail as my default web app.

Inappropriate?I agree! This would be a wonderful addition and with the multiple inboxes, this would go a long way.

Inappropriate?I agree. I just failed to add an email account to GMail because the latter account uses IMAP but not POP for fetching.

Inappropriate? This is not even a feature, but a necessity. Due to the security concerns with POP, many email providers do not even allow access to a POP server or ports. Please Google, throw us a bone!

Inappropriate?I don't even bother when the IMAP fetch doesn't support fetching email folders. I agree that it is a necessity, looking already for three years how I can get mail from an IMAP-supporting account, by the use of an webmail/all-over-the-world-accessible-mailaccount
