Is there a way to download attachments from gmail in "mobile mode"?

On my Palm Centro, the only way I can download any attachment is to use the "HTML mode". However, the default load to my gmail is "mobile mode". I hate that I have to reload everything over again just so I can download one picture or some .doc file. Is there a way to make attachments downloadable via mobile mode in gmail?
