Merge contact button within contacts

Quite a few of the "suggested contacts" email addresses I already have as contacts, I would like a way that I could simply merge this suggestion with a chosen contact rather than what you have to do at the moment which means deleting the suggestion, searching for the contact and pasting the suggestions email.

It would also come in useful for merging duplicate contacts, gmail could find the things that are the same within a contact and keep only one, but ones that are different could be kept.

Contacts needs to be made better.
