'My Contacts' in Google Contacts (gmail) should be treated as a regular contacts group

For Google Contacts (in gmail) there needs to be an option to move selected contacts to the My Contacts 'group'. Currently only gmail can automatically select which contacts are 'eligible' to be moved into the My Contacts group. The trouble with this is that when trying to sync contacts with an iPhone, it will only sync those in the 'My Contacts' group.

'My Contacts' should be treated as a group, where contacts can be added and removed from.

Until this is fixed, gmail contact syncing with the iphone (and other google sync applications) is limited in usefulness
