Popular site not being indexed by google (or anywhere else for that matter)
My boyfriend and I started a blog (http://www.lifetinker.com) in early August. We have yet to be indexed by Google (or anywhere else). However, our blog has been linked to by several people with >= 5 PageRank, we have some traffic, we have about 60 subscribers to the RSS feed, we submitted a site map. In the meantime, a friend created another site that's only 1 page and has no big links - that site was indexed in two days.
We're feeling a little neglected here and would love some help!!!

First, and most pressing, is that every page on the blog has a robots meta entry in the head that tells google *not* to index the site, look for the meta tag with the name of "robots". The blog is specifically telling google "Don't index me, and don't follow any of my links to other pages".
Remove that meta tag, and you will eventually get in the index.
Additionally, you should make sure that you pages validate using: http://validator.w3.org/, they currently do not.
Thirdly, enable pretty permalinks in wordpress:

Also, you may want to improve the titles used on the blog, so that the blog branding appears at the end of the title. People won't be looking for your blog, they'll be looking for articles matching their keyword searches, which 99.999999% of the time won't contain "Lifetinker". Once your brand is well established, you can put lifetinker first, but until then it will only hurt your click-through.
So, instead of: Lifetinker » Blog Archive » Using Outlook Data
Use: Using Outlook Data | Lifetinker

Inappropriate?Scott - this is incredibly helpful - thanks so much for your quick reply. Wordpress appears to have an option which was on when we installed it. We've implemented your suggestions, and are awaiting success!
I’m thrilled

Inappropriate? You might want to also either remove this file:
http://www.lifetinker.com/robots.txt
... which appears to have some invalid syntax, or replace it with valid syntax that gives permission to all spiders to index your site.
More info is found here:
http://www.robotstxt.org/
(Simplest thing to do is to remove the file, as not having the file there is equivalent to giving permission to everyone to crawl/index your site, which is probably what you want.)

Inappropriate?thebench,
I think the webmaster tools are lying to you. When searching for your newer content it is showing up as expected.
For example, if you search for "Earth in the blanket" you are #5 in the results.
