Inappropriate?Using Chrome 2.0.172.43 and it works.
Try the following: Contect menu (within a TextBox) and select "Spell-checker options" and then "Check the spelling of this field".

My "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\Dictionaries" is empty. -

My application directory (<drive>:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\Dictionaries) contains some .bdic files...
Try Tools | Options > Change Font and Language Settings > Languages
Are there languages listed? Of not click the Add button to add some languages. Also ensure that the "Check spelling" checkbox is selected.</username></drive> -
Inappropriate?I have English US selected. I've tried selecting English UK, no difference. The check spelling is selected.
I did a search for .bdic files, nothing on my c drive. -
Inappropriate?I uninstalled chrome, set the google updater app to have administrator privileges, and reinstalled. now it works
