When switching accounts in Firefox, why can't I log back in properly?
Right now, I am in a Google Reader page under one account. If I logout of that page, go to "gmail.com," then login under a different account, I never reach the mail page, only the same login screen over and over. The system is not telling me that my credentials are wrong and if I switch to IE, I can get in fine.

Inappropriate?I've noticed similar problems when logged in to one gmail account and trying to access a Google Reader account under a different email address. Or when trying to access my Google Docs account that's under one of my email addresses while I'm logged in under another tab with a different Gmail address. Google does not handle multiple accounts well at all and I haven't quite figured out how to make it all work properly.
For now, I keep my Google Reader account open in Firefox and my gmail account open in Safari. Not an ideal solution.
I’m frustrated and a little confused.

Inappropriate?Perhaps that's it. My domain is managed at Gmail. So, I do have another tab open that's connected there nearly all the time. Maybe that's it. :-( Oh well. It's not that big of a deal.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Yes, that's part of my issue too. Our email domain is managed at Gmail and I have a personal Gmail account as well as a secondary work Gmail account for sharing a Google Reader account with someone else. Then there's my various Google Docs accounts. All rather complicated. Seems like using completely different browsers is the only way to be logged into multiple Google accounts at once.

Inappropriate?I have several Google accounts as well, both regular and my own domain (Google Apps), so I have experienced what you (all) are going through. While it's true you cannot be signed-in to more than one Google account at a time, that's actually true *per browser*. I've been able to be logged-in to three accounts at a time this way: my usual in Firefox, my domain in Firefox too (they work together just fine), another regular account in Firefox, but using the IE Tab plug-in (which allows Internet Explorer to be used "inside" a Firefox tab, so it *like* having another browser). I could also be in another account if needed by using Opera (another browser).
Crazy, eh? I still have to log-out/log-in to other accounts I have, but the main ones I use everyday like above, and it works fairly well; at least, I haven't had any page errors or browser problems because of it.
Also, tcv: try clearing your browser's cache if you still have trouble getting back in; also, if you use the broswer's password "keeper", try deleting the entry for Gmail (mail.google.com) and trying again.
Hope this helps (this is my first post on gs).
I’m happy to help out!

Inappropriate? Thanks for the tips, TyeDyeShadow. I'll have to try that IE Tab plug-in. Hadn't thought of that. For now I'm using Firefox and Safari to accomplish what I need to but there are some aspects of Gmail I don't like in Safari as well as Firefox.
I’m glad to know it's not just me
