Why is mail fetcher so slow?
Recently I merged my work email (POP access) with my existing Gmail account, which I've had for years. It's so convenient to have everything in one inbox. However, Gmail is dreadfully slow (and somewhat random) in using Mail Fetcher to fetch those work emails via POP3. Google, when will you allow users to set up automated "fetching" via timed intervals, like Outlook does?

Inappropriate?I'm having exactly the same problem. Sometimes it just doesn't collect emails at all or they take upto half an hour to come through. It's certainly not the mail server.
If I open up (evil) entourage, which is what I made the switch from, boom they all appear immediately.
Maybe there needs to be a 'force send and recieve' for the mail
I’m disapointed

Inappropriate?Same problem here, routed work email through my personal Gmail (work is even domain-based Gmail), and mails take forever to show up, sometimes as long as 30-45 minutes, which is completely unacceptable. I can understand that Gmail doesn't want to make POP3 queries every 2 minutes, but when the account it is fetching from is itself hosted on Gmail, I don't see why it should take this long.
I’m also disappointed
