Why not include business phone numbers in Google Maps' directions?

So I look up a business in Google maps and then map directions to it. The business listing includes a phone number for the business, but the directions don't. Why not automatically include the phone number in the directions? It would save the hassle of manually copying the phone number into the notes field. So then when I can't find the business, I'd always have a phone number I could try.
