Submit tickets by email
GoPlan is terrific for project task tracking but we still run a separate helpdesk system. If GoPlan had the ability to submit tickets by email it would go a long way to be our one-stop solution. Zendesk do this brilliantly if you need an example of how it could work.

Inappropriate?Ah, we love this idea too - this is definitely coming. One of the things we're focusing on the new Goplan version is external hooks - things that people can do to send stuff into Goplan without actually logging into the site. Email is one of those ways.

Could you make it so that we can email to tasks (myAlias.task@goplan.org) and tickets (myAlias.tix@goplan.org), events, and files (which are self evident by extension). Better yet, may be we can determine what the content is in the subject (given content is not a jpg, mpg, etc). email to myAlias@goplan.org with subject of: note Don't forget the pizza!

Inappropriate?Just started using goplan this week. Seems like there needs to be a way for clients to enter tickets without giving them them free reign to delete discussions, tasks, other people's tickets, etc. Per project email ticket creation seems to be the way to go.
I’m afraid someone is going to throw away something important.

Inappropriate?Tickets and tasks by email is something that everyone's been really wanting for a long time. Ditto on your request though - I hate having to do the whole formal account set up thing for users who must learn to use the site to create tickets. It's always been one of my gripes about all systems like this.
For me GoPlan just has lesser evils than others do, fair pricing, and despite this particular thread, fairly fast response on user requests that they agree with. -
Yeah, I'm liking it so far. The collaborator role just seems too complicated/dangerous for some clients. Those delete buttons just don't seem right. A limited client role with only constructive (add, comment, complete) permissions not destructive (delete) would make me more comfortable... -
