New website URL feature problem
Websites that don't start with "www" get a "www" slapped on to them after saving and become angry in the new spot website URL feature.
Here's an example of a spot with an angry website URL: http://gowalla.com/spots/26432

Inappropriate? Also, adding https (secure http) causes the parser to freak out: e.g. https://cakefinancial.com turns into www.https://cakefinancial.com.

Sent this one to Josh already, fwiw. -
Inappropriate?I was about to post this problem myself so glad to see others had picked up on it. There should definitely not be a "www" prepended automatically to URLs as it has been deprecated in many peoples eyes - Check out http://no-www.org/ for more info.
With regards to the bug, if you try a subdomain it also prepends a www (so iphone.gowallatools.com gets turned to www.iphone.gowallatools.com - don't worry... gowallatools doesn't have a spot of it's own but I was testing if subdomains had this problem!)
I really like the feature though so glad to have it but I don't think it needs the correction that appears to have been implemented. I also think that trailing slashes should be removed automatically if you are removing the http://

Inappropriate?Just tried to add the following web address to a spot:
http://arts.brighton.ac.uk -- but Gowalla automatically adds a www. to the start of the URL and breaks it.
