Will Grand Central support text messaging?
My question is simply, does Grand Central plan to offer support for text messaging? In other words, will I ever be able to receive text messages that people send to my Grand Central number? If not, then Grand Central is not for me.
The more people who ask this question, the more it gets noticed.

You can now "suggest" this feature as a priority from a list of others. Vote here and hopefully it'll speed up the process a bit :)

Inappropriate?Great question, Sobi. And you couldn't find anything about it on their web site?
I’m curious too

Inappropriate?Wow, I thought I was weird for wondering if GrandCentral supported text messaging. Here's what it said in there FAQ:
Q: Can I receive text (SMS) messages with GrandCentral?
A: We're not compatible with standard text message services (yet)
I was really excited about this service but like you I'm holding off using my account until I find out more about text message support.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed

Inappropriate?Add me as a me-too for SMS support for GrandCentral. In order for me to really start using GC as my replacement number, this is a must.

Inappropriate?Yeah!!! I have it, but now my signature says: TXT MSG ONLY: ###-###-#### ... not fun!! we need txt!! :)
I’m hoping it'll be available soon!!

Inappropriate?Well it sort of does, set the notification from yourphone#@grandcentral.com to forward to yourphone#@messaging.sprintpcs.com (thats if ur a sprint customer, if u have nextel, verizon, tmobile or cingular ur gonna have to find out which one is for ur provider.) I havent tried it from phone to phone yet (waitin for a friend to test it out wit me), but it does work from email to phone.

Inappropriate?People just *assume* your phone number supports SMS. This is a killer app for GC or its competitors.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I wouldn't mind if it translated an inbound SMS into an email and an outbound email to an SMS. That would be a valid workaround in the interim. Eventually GTalk will be the SMS interface on Android phones, I believe.
I’m eager.
