A freaking sweet Grooveshark app for the iPhone/iPod touch (or a compatible website)
I'm sure there a lot of legal roadblocks, but to have a grooveshark app on my iphone would be amazing! Or an iPhone compatible grooveshark website. To be able to select and listen to any song while on the go would be great!!

Hey Tim and Karl3,
Great ideas, all around! We're definitely all about mobile, as it's a seeming inevitability for music consumption at this point. Not to mention that having Grooveshark on the go would be kickass.
We're planning apps for some of the major smartphones in the near future, particularly the ones that have well-defined development environments. As for other phones/Java, we don't have any immediate plans to get Grooveshark working there.
Either way, I'll keep you posted!

Inappropriate?why don't you make a java app since there are many different internet capable music phones? iphone is a killer only in one country.
in europe some mobile carriers are already offering unlimited music download plans, and these are even cheap (mine is 5eur per month), so i guess that managing copyrights would be easier as well.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?sorry to disappoint you, but you're waisting your time with apple. your ultimate goal is to sell music, and apple doesn't want you competing with its own offerings - you don't have a slightest chance of getting your app approved. see it for yourself: http://technologizer.com/2008/09/13/a...
apple is evil. -
Hey Karl,
We've considered this, but from what we can garner the situation is at worst not clear-cut, and at best not a problem at all. If for some reason that did end up happening, we'll let you know--but either way, the prospect of an iPhone app is pretty killer, so we're going to do everything we can to get music in the hands--and ears--of those who want it. -
Inappropriate?Grooveshark's main focus is not to sell music. You're silly.

Inappropriate? An Iphone app would be killer... Pandora does it, pandora is great but doesn't have half the features grooveshark does.
Make it happen! -
We're on it! More updates as I have them.

Inappropriate?hey, opera mini browser now supports flash (on some mobiles, and numbers are growing). if you make a smaller ui, ppl could listen to grooveshark on their mobiles via web browser. (btw, it would be nice to have a just bit smaller version of grooveshark lite for netbooks as well).
@ iphone
maybe it's a killer now, but it's future doesn't seem so bright. apple is about to become convicted for anti-competitive behavior in europe, and we (westerners) really suck at technology. my hood in belgrade is rapidly turning into a china town, and you wouldn't believe the stuff i'm seeing here - let's just say they already have iphone-sized touchcreen phones with freaking built-in projectors! i'm quite sure my next phone will be chinese... -
Inappropriate?Having Grooveshark on Windows Mobile and Android would rock.
Are these some of the major smartphone platforms that you are talking about?
I’m hopeful

I'm not really sure how much info it's ok to "leak," so I'll just say that you guys won't be disappointed. ;) -
Inappropriate?Well, I think that it would be very good if can have Grooveshark on my mobile phone, but it is based on UIQ3 Symbian OS, and it supports Java, like mostly every one other phone. WM devices also can emulate Java, other Symbian devices also can. I thing, that if you create a Java version, everybody would be happy.

Inappropriate?I have native Groove Shark on my Nokia N900. It works right out of the box. But there is a login issue - I get an errormessage claiming the password does not match, even if it is the right password indeed.
Happy "Nokiot"
I’m happy
