Inappropriate? The short answer is that you shouldn't - always be skeptical of third-party services and do your research before handing over sensitive data.
GroupTweet is a pet project of mine that grew much larger than I intended it to be. I do my best to make sure that the service is secure, but if you are extremely concerned about privacy and security, I would look elsewhere. Perhaps http://www.yammer.com is a better choice for you.
Just so you are aware of how things work and what is planned for the future:
- Messages are only stored on our servers for a few minutes. once a message has been broadcast, it is removed permanently.
- All requests that GroupTweet makes to the Twitter API are over HTTPS.
- In the next few months, a new GroupTweet site will be launched that will make use of the new oAuth system recently added to the Twitter API. This means that it will no longer be necessary to enter your password into the GroupTweet system.
I hope I answered your question... but if you'd like to know more, please don't hesitate to ask!

Inappropriate?nice response.
yes, am using yammer. what annoys me at the moment is using a second client app for yammer (adobe air) along side tweetie. tweetie has great support for multiple accounts... i stumbled on grouptweets via tweetie blog post.
so was curious.
def a great project for casual groups and might even be useful for more sensitive data once oauth is applied. i like that you delete stored messages once the data is successfully sent forward.
interesting project! might use it in some manner.
thanks,
sull
