DM Bot and HTML Entities
Tweetbots converts some characters in dm tweets in to entities, for instance https://twitter.com/spreedly/status/1... looks fine on the web, but in Twitterrific the ' shows up as '. Help - I'm afraid to use the dm bot now!

I just want to point out the issue was with CGI::unescapeHTML, it wasn't catching the ' html entity.
To be honest, we took longer than I wanted to fix this, but it turned out to be minor in both the fix and the impact (just the ' in my testing).

Nathaniel,
Thanks for reporting this issue. I fixed up the code to unescape any html entities, so now they read and post like normal.
This was pushed last night in a big bug fix update.

Inappropriate?Josh, I'm still seeing this issue (https://twitter.com/spreedly/status/1...). Any ideas?

Inappropriate?Nathaniel,
Can you give me a pastie of the html entity output you see? I don't use twitterific, so this isn't really an issue I can see.
We use the Ruby HTML Entities gem to convert everything, so having what you typed and what you saw would help me test in irb and to write some specs. -
Inappropriate?Sure thing, attached is a screenshot of Twitterrific showing the tweet. I just typed an apostrophe ('), just as I usually do. They show up right in my own account, it's only when posted via Tweetbots direct message feature that I see them show up wrong.
Thanks Josh!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I have this problem as well. It's not just Twitteriffic. They show up in SMS messages as well.
I’m annoyed

Inappropriate? It looks like this ticket is saying that Handcrafted thinks that the issue is fixed. It's not fixed. This ticket makes it difficult to use tweetbots since we're unsure about whether the tweet is going to get utf8 mangled.
I’m ready to use another product

Inappropriate?Indeed, just tested and it works in twitterific. I will add a unit test for it as well.
