Retweet with @username
The Open Social foundation twitter bot retweets DMs with the @username which they came from. That would be a good option. It's often nice to highlight the source of a tweet.

Inappropriate?Ah I see so this stems back to how Yahoo is using one Twitter account for many Twitter users: http://getsatisfaction.com/handcrafte...
So adding the @username would give credit back to the person tweeting to the Yahoo account? Is that right?
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Right!
We have a bunch of people who are at an event or just doing neat stuff. I think it's worth the community knowing who they are and following them directly if they want. I'm proud of the amazing folks who work at Y! so I'd like to show 'em off.
I’m happy

Inappropriate? How would you envision giving credit?
Would a "- @username" work? Perhaps "via @username"?
Should we truncate the main 140 characters in order to fit the credits on the tweet?
i.e. "Answering get satisfaction questions on tweetbots. Get satisfaction is nice, but I am curious to give Tenderapp.com a try soon and compare."
would become:
"Answering get satisfaction questions on tweetbots. Get satisfaction is nice, but I am curious to give Tenderapp.com a try so... - @joshowens"
I’m curious

Inappropriate?"via @username" would be great.
I guess I would truncate the message. Although I've not noticed how the OpenSocial folks do it with their bot.
Sending "d username message"should hopefully be close to "via @username message". I think if you truncated people would get used to how much text they could use. -
Inappropriate?Thinking about it it, it would actually rock if you could message someone back if they send a tweet that's too long.
E.g.
@sh1mmer "d mybot this is a message that is way longer than you can send on my behalf if I keep going at this rate you'll never be able to send it all"
@mybot "d sh1mmer I'm sorry your last message beginning 'this is a message' was too long. Try shortening it."
I’m problem solving
