SPLITS and SUB-ACCOUNTS
the info icon wont let me make a split between two accounts.
I have a garage with an electric meter that gets its own bill that I track, I also have a house electric bill, I write one check to the electric co, and I am trying to split the amounts between the two accounts.
Can you help?

Inappropriate? Can you be more specific about what you do and how moneyGuru behaves? The only thing I can do right now is to describe how to make a split.
So when you have the Transaction Info panel up, in the Transfer field, edit the first line and set the account to Checking (or whatever account you write your check from) and in credit, put the amount of the check you wrote. On the second line, write "House Utilities" or whatever your account is and write down the amount that goes to this account in debit. a 3rd line will automatically be created with the difference between the 1st and the second line. Just write down "Garage Utilities" and you're done. -
Inappropriate?I am not getting it. I open a new document: expenses is highlighted, I enter date description, from, to, amount -- I do not see how to do any more. When you say Transaction Info panel - where is this? Could you please start again and use the terms of the names in the windows and menus. Thanks.

Inappropriate?1- Add a transaction in the Transactions or Account panel (like you did, Bob)
2- Make sure it is selected, then click on the little "i" button at the bottom of the window (or press Cmd-I).
3- Add as many splits you want in the "Transfers" section of the Info panel.
There is an Edition screencast at http://www.hardcoded.net/moneyguru/sc... that shows, toward the middle of the video, how to create a split transaction.
