I have been posting w/ #sayings for over a month and it has never updated the page.
Now I see another twitter user has activated that hashtag. What gives?

Inappropriate?Due to the way we're pulling data, we will miss some tweets, we're working on this. Also if your profile isn't public, we won't see your message.
-
Inappropriate?same problem, i've added hashtags to a bunch of my tweets and none of them show up. of course when i number something, #4, #19, #20, it shows up!!!!! in fact, that's the ONLY tweet that has ever shown up on here!!! WTF!?!>!>!!?!>?>!?>
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Same thing here, have been tweeting whole with #fowa and #fowadublin and I see other people's tweets appear, but not mine. This is inded frustrating, kind of make the whole thing pointless.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I am having the same problem. I have been using the #hashtag and it is not showing up in the registry. It shows in Twitter under the Advanced Search by #hashtag. Anyone have an answer as to why this is happening?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I found the answer to our problem!!!!
To have your #hashtag in Twitter indexed in hashtags.org, you need to follow hashtags in Twitter and ALSO have them follow you. To have hashtags follow you, use the Direct Message feature and ask them to follow you. As soon, as they accept, you show immediately in the directory.
http://twitter.com/hashtags to get the hashtags user name in Twitter.
Cheers!
Christina

Inappropriate?i've been following them and they've been following me the whole time...should i un-follow and re-follow?
-
Inappropriate?Try posting again with your hashtag and then also enter in the #hashtag hashtag. So for example, I entered in #nitlecamp and #hashtag in the same post, it was picked up immediately. At first I thought it was the fact that hashtags was following me, but then realized I had introduced a new variable. Hope this works for you.
-
Inappropriate?I'm following Hastags and it is following me already and has been. I don't think adding another tag is or should be required - see other people's tweets that have been indexed, they don't contain #hashtag tags.
I think the problem is that Hastags is overloaded and can't cope with indexing Tweets from those who just joined.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?yea, i just tried it again and added #hashtag...no dice. shows up in search.twitter.com though so that's fine by me. i think i may try un-following then re-following.
-
Inappropriate?I think you only have to do it one time. I just "joined" yesterday in that I used the #hashtag, #nitlecamp, for the first time. I posted and posted and posted and nothing. I posted #hashtag along with #nitlecamp on one post (after following and being followed by hashtags), and I am now indexed in the directory. This all took place within ~15 minutes.
-
Inappropriate?I see that you say that you are following them and they are following you. Try using the #hashtag in the same post as your hashtag. And then do a search on hashtags to see if it shows.

Says when you follow hashtags in Twitter, they will follow you back automatically. I did not find this to be the case. I had to ask them to follow me. -

Inappropriate?same here daulton, had the problem since signing up, and nobody can't or won't do anything about it..
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Come on, hashtags powers-that-be.... a lot of people seem to be having this problem! In my case, I was auto-followed by @hashtags, but I don't show up in the directory, and my tweets aren't tracked.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? Here is what I did and it worked. Follow the user id "hashtags" in Twitter. The user id "hashtags" is supposed to automatically then follow you. I found this NOT to be the case. I had to send a message to "hashtags" to follow me. As soon as they followed me, my hashtag showed up in the hashtag registry.
-
Christina, how did you send them a message. I am following hashtags but they aren't following me back yet. I have looked for an email address and even posted a message on their Facebook fan page but this still no resolution. Any additional details would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. -
Inappropriate?Same problem. And I even sent a msg to hashtags requesting a follow (even though it was already the case). What's odd is that now I show up in the directory, and only one hashtag under my name appears -- this after many before and since I noticed the problem.
-
Update: #hashtagfail worked OK when posted from my Blackberry using UberTwitter. No other hashtag is posting... Makes no friggin sense. -
Inappropriate?I've used hashtags on quite a few of my tweets tonight, and only one of them actually made it. Kinda disappointing and frustrating especially when I found out about hashtags from a RT about donating
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hashtags.org also doesn't pull my avatar (http://hashtags.org/people/twitter/da...); that may have something to do with it.
But to hell with hashtags. I started using twemes.com and it works fine.
I’m over hashtags.org
-
The feed had a problem where it wasn't giving us the profile urls -
Inappropriate?this site is more or less useless so hashtags not showing up on here doesn't even matter anyway. twitter has its own trending topics and if they are marked with hashtags, then there you go. also, using search.twitter.com for your hashtag searches always works so i'm not even sure why people still even use hashtags.org
I’m indifferent

Yep, I noticed that the search on twitter was recently made more robust. I'll probably unfollow hastags.org -- what's the point? -
Inappropriate?what really bugs me is how hasthtags.org has been obsoleted by twitter functionality, yet they beg for money to keep themselves afloat
I’m appalled
-
you say that, but we still have 130k uniques a month and over 400k pageviews. We currently make no money on the site and the hosting bill is really high to serve that many users. I'm sorry you don't see any use in the site, but at the same time a lot of people do. There really is not a reason for you to come on this forum and bash a site that you don't even use. Its pointlessly negative. -
Inappropriate?Guys, honestly, up until about two days ago there was absolutely nothing we could do about it. We had a limited feed of information to scrape. We can't create something from nothing. Pinging twitter search wouldn't have been great for us or twitter. First, you can't discover tags through twitter search. Second, its not real time, we'd have to have someway of users adding hashtags or something. When the site first started, we got data from a real time stream of data over xmpp of all people following the hashtags user, which was later killed. After that, there was a long time where the site didn't work cause there was no good way to access to the data. The public timeline only shows 20 tweets at a time. We then got access to a private feed of 600 messages, but it was cached for a minute. So every minute or so, we could only pull 600 messages. A few days ago, twitter came to us and hopefully soon we'll have a new solution worked out. I know its frustrating, but try and be patient, there's a lot of cool stuff in the pipeline.

I understand there are challenges to maintaining something like this. But don't be surprised how quickly people will go/look elsewhere when something doesn't work. It's the nature of things nowadays...
I wonder how many other people's hashtags aren't appearing. On a related note: one of mine from today appeared, but none of the others I've done today -- or in the past 24 days. Don't get it. -
Inappropriate?Hey, thanks Brian. It's helpful to have a little background to understand the challenges.
I’m effervescent.
-
Inappropriate?Thank for your acknowledging this is an issue. I was starting to think I was going crazy. Looking forward to things working better in the future :)
I’m patient
-
Inappropriate?Same here. Even sent the direct message. Hashtags, please follow me, my username is @insightmark
I’m hopeful
-
Inappropriate?still sad as I have not joined recently and previously my tags with #battleground used to get noticed but nowadays they are not when other people responses are getting noticed, why not mine?
-
Inappropriate?Same Problem as all above; it's just strange that some tweets always post with #hashtags and other don't post at all??
Trying to be Patient...and
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?you can try this remedy to get your hashtags back. worked for me.

I’m thankful
-
Chantelle: that remedy seems completely unrelated to this issue. -
Inappropriate?neither our hashtag #mowaii nor our agency name 'mowaii' have been found on hashtag.org.
What happend to them? What can we do to change this bug on our part?
Feedback would be great!
I’m nearly frustrated
-
Inappropriate?contact @tiger on twitter if your hashtags aren't showing up. He found my problem and fixed it.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?@NaLa: why don't you tell us how to fix the problem?
I do have absolutly no time to contact @tiger at twitter!
For what else, you think, I'll might post here?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate? Here is a back door way around it while we wait for them to come up with a reasonable solution. I am doing this for clients who have the same problem. http://www.gsocialmedia.com/2009/10/n... This will work for now!
I’m excited
-
G Social Media, and others: You're not understanding. This is not a Twitter problem, it's a hashtags.org problem. My hash tags are showing up just fine, as are other people's - on twitter. hashtags.org is ignoring them for some reason, so they don't show up on hashtags.org's charts or trends, and their counts are off. -
Inappropriate? So you are showing up in the common and people search, but your Hashtags are not showing up? Okay, my solution is for people that are missing from it all. Hastag companies are not that solid, but Twitter usually tracks them anyway nowadays.
-
Inappropriate?@mowaii I have no idea what @tiger did to fix my problem, I don't even know if your problem with hashtags and mine were the same. All I know is that @tiger fixed my problem. Someone gave me his name, and I contacted him, end of story.
BTW, it's not nice to yell at people who are just trying to help you.

Inappropriate? This is a getsatisfaction forum for hashtags.org, specifically. We're talking about an issue with hashtags.org. This is not a general twitter issues forum.
hashtags.org has some sort of problem and seems to be missing hashtags from some people entirely. There's nothing we (the users) can really do about it, without knowing what hashtags.org's bug is. Most likely, they have to find the bug and fix it. But they don't seem to be paying attention, even though they registered this forum.
