LDAP support is a planned in feature for fixx 2.0. The reason this is being delayed is because supporting LDAP completely is a tricky situation. Providing a Single Sign On solution where people use their LDAP authentication details is not a problem, but allowing user account management completely through LDAP is tricky due to licensing issues and how fixx treats user accounts.
Rest assured, we will be aiming for at least LDAP authentication support in fixx 2.0.

Inappropriate?Hi Sarat,
thanks for your reply. Do you have any estimate when 2.0 will be released?
Thanks again
Marco

We do not have a firm estimate of when 2.0 will be released. We are still working on getting 1.8 out and considering 2.0 will be a huge upgrade with hundreds of features, it might take a while. What I can definitely say it won't be out in the next 3 months and potentially might take 6 months or more. -
Inappropriate?Hi Sarat,
thanks for your reply. I think as a workaround we can import the Active Directory to the client table and wait for ldap. Nevertheless is it possible to change the sorting a little bit, because if we import 1000 users and mark them as client in some views it does not very nice, if you have no options to sort or to filter. (e.g. under the admin/client page or if you like to add a client to a project).
when will 1.8 then be released?
Thanks
Marco -
I get your point about what happens if you have a 1000+ clients and/or users. Sorting/filtering on the user pages is definitely high on our list and I reckon we will get this implemented for 2.0 -
Inappropriate?Importing the Active Directory to users table is definitely something one of our existing customer is doing. In fact, I believe they have linked things like password mangement directly to the database, so when the LDAP password is changed, it synchronises the fixx password.
Obviously, it goes without saying that this method is not highly recommended due to the potential risk that any database integrity issue could bring down the entire fixx instance, if the table is not populated correctly. I wonder if this is the reason for the Admin errors you have reported in another issue?
As for 1.8, we are working on tying up some final issues in the coming days and it should then go into some serious testing. I would say we are weeks away, but our official policy is not to comment on exact release dates.
I’m digging innovative solutions from customers.
