Mail all comments to assignee
Hi,
if somebody is assigned to an issue and he isn't watching issue, he doesn't receive e-mail when something changed in this issue. I think it would be better if assignee is notified if anything changes in this issue despite the fact he is or is not watching issue.
Or add to comment form checkbox Notify assignee as in Create new issue form.

Inappropriate? The reason this was not implemented was that we wanted to minimise the "notification spam" that is typical of many bug tracking systems which send you updates for everything.
I like the idea of actually choosing to notify the assignee when adding a comment. We have long been thinking about adding "keep informed" actions to commenting but wanted to gauge the interest from customers.
I would like to see who else would like this feature before we definitely plan it in.
I’m wanting more feature requests

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?is it? It seems not to work in 1.8 (or may be it's a configuration mistake by myself). Ticket openers get NO notification about changes until the check the "watch this!"-Button.
I also think this will be an improvement, if admins could choose (global or per project) if assignees will be notified if something happens.
Most customers do not check if there is something new if they get no notification - and some of them forget to check the "watch this issue"-button. :-(
I’m happy

To be clear, this functionality is only to notify "assignee" (person who the issue is assigned to). Ticket openers do not get notifications unless they explicitly subscribe so you are right.
We are working on notification improvements in 2.0 where admins can configure notifications per project. -
Inappropriate?you are right, this was wrong thinking. But the problem is the same - I also get no notification if someone (a client) opens an issue which is assigned to me.
E-Mail is working as I (and customers) get some mails if the "watch this issue"-box is checked. But I do NOT get some notification if some client opens an issue which is assigned to me.
Happens in version 1.8 on a debian etch-box with mysql-backend (if this is important), debian box is also qualified mailserver and works fine.
I’m indifferent

This is indeed a problem. Our changes in the notification systems should fix this problem :)
