Inappropriate? We've seen a few requests for making BrightKit an Air app. Truthfully, it's not high on the list of priorities... at least not yet. There's a lot of features coming up that we feel will be more immediately useful, but we're certainly aware of the interest.
We've just added feeds, (at)replies, some more time zones, and a few other features, and have some more improvements with feeds/followers on the way, including custom feeds, and DM’s. Full list of release notes here: http://ow.ly/eR

Inappropriate? It's a great idea. I would just love something that would make it easier to get into Brighki and not having to go to a bookmark. Problem is with bookmarks I might as well just use Twitter when I'm there. I really have to think to use Brightkit as much as I like it cuz my bookmark for Twitter is in the same area. Picky I know...
I’m understanding of the decision

Inappropriate?Agreed, it's a really great idea. Just one that takes a little more time than others. You never know, perhaps we'll consider it in the new year.

Inappropriate? If not a desktop app, then perhaps a custom pop-out mini-browser window (similar to Ping.FM).

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?I believe that they can do this too. So we can use HootSuite more often. Because it will start to live at our system tray, not our address bar ;).
