Hi Jesmond--
At the moment we're working on some other great features we think our users will enjoy, but we have some great ideas about how to manage followers/following from within HootSuite.
FYI, Follower and Following management is fairly tricky, and the way Twitter's API works means that much of this trickiness will be on HootSuite's end. This is a tough thing to do, but we will be working on this in the future.

Inappropriate?Hi Tim,
We don't have any place to manage followers/following yet, but we have some pretty cool ideas for this, and it's something we'll be implementing in the future.
Thanks for the feedback,
Kate & the HootSuite team

I've been using TweetDeck, but heard HootSuite was best. NOT. If I can't organize followers, HS is not a program I can use. -

Check out the TweetDeck program; they make it easy... I have used it for one month. Heard HootSuite was best, but not for a while I guess. -
Inappropriate? Not even on a separate tab one can see his followers. I hope this will be able in the near future.
@Susan O'Hara:
Also in TweetDeck (v0.26.4) the followers cannot directly be displayed.
I’m very very sad!

Inappropriate?yes, very frustrating especially when it comes to managing spammers and porn posters

You can unfollow and report spammers by clicking on their twitter name or avatar and then clicking those buttons in the pop-up that appears -
Inappropriate?I agree , we need this feature as bots , and spammers get more pervasive

Inappropriate?Although you can add or remove a person from your following list, there is no indicator to tell you if you are or aren't already following, the only way to tell is to click the follow button and wait for the banner to come up either green (added)or red (already following or blocked), it would be nice to have an icon or tag on their profile window indicating their follow status.

Inappropriate?The current workaround:
1. Find your @name anywhere on the screen.
2. Right-click it.
3. In the box that pops up, see the "Twitter:" line: http://twitter.com/fekauffman
4. RIGHT-CLICK this link.
5. Select "Open in a new Tab" (if your browser provides it). If not-- Select "Open in a new Window".
6. On the new tab/in the new window (the twitter page itself), click your followers number in the top right.
HootSuite has GREAT reasons for not tackling this right away-- and the version of follower management they will come up with is going to be far superior to the base Twitter one.
Here's my two cents on the bigger topic:
My only advice on spammers/marketers/etc. following you-- ignore them. Turn off your email notifications when someone follows you and let them contribute to your number of followers. The WHOLE point of their following you is to get your attention-- sounds like they have.
Save the Report Spammer feature for when someone DMs, @replies you, etc. with a spam message.
Good luck!
