We are having a lunchen on our own later this month on the 26th and we are going to have a raffle and give away a gift basket with SBL products in it. We love the products and have used many of them since 2005.

Inappropriate?Well I am thinking maybe a survey before trying the product and one after. LIke an expectations survey.... and serve mini samples.. yeah bite size pieces, with an expectation card 1st, then after the taste, and then a palate cleanser! (is this what you are looking for?)

I would like to see coupons that are NOT computer generated as well as promotional items like cooler bags, water bottles, snack containers, etc. I also am willing to host an actual house party with samples for everyone to taste and distribute information about the south beach products.

That being said, I see that some people still have some general questions. Too that end, it appears that everyone would benefit from a more detailed description of what the AfterParty is all about, what hosts can do and how guests can get involved.
We want to work with our members to make the AfterParty as exciting as possible. But it appears before we move to that step, we should first clear up the questions. House Party will work on getting clearer messaging out to everyone involved in this exciting experience.

Inappropriate?I will be offering samples and I like the idea another member has of having a drawing for a basket of the products. I hope to also be inspired by the entrees and other items. I need to get to the store to see all that's available. I hope there are some coupons on this site or elsewhere that I can use. Meanwhile, I feel like I'm winging it here and don't feel as confident as I have with a traditional houseparty. I better be rewarded something nice for doing this and also better be invited to host a regular house party.

Inappropriate?I like the guaranteed host status for future parties when you get an AfterParty. I also like the idea of exclusive offers and prizes. But I am curious, will the guaranteed host status be for future parties of this product only? Because if so, there isno guarantee the company WILL offer a future party, unless HP makes them sign a 2 or 3 party contract.

Inappropriate?Well, I was certainly taken by surprise since I wasn't selected to have the first party. Hummm.. an "After Party". Sounds like something funny I would have pulled just to keep spirits high. Come on, we've all experienced the let down when "the parties over".
Well, I would love to see some freebie coupons to purchase "party food" with. Maybe free pedometers or food scales. Oooo, exercise DVDs. Well, if your asking, I'm going to think outside my box and say throw in a trip! ;-)

All of my friends and family are getting together in June to do the relay for life walk and I'm trying to lose weight before, so this is going to be very helpful! thanks house party and south beach. the more knowledge the better!!!!!! Inappropriate?im not sure what this after party is all about espically since i havent got to host one yet. if you want my suggestions i would offer free samples, gifts, recipes, for the guests as well as the host. a drawing for a gift pack would be nice also. it would bring in a lot more guests. im all for it but i do need to know more about it first. Inappropriate?Well I must say I have been quite confused on this. I've decided to stop waiting on house party to have a real party. I have applied to almost every party since I first signed up and I haven't gotten to do not a one. Some people say this is to have a web party, well if so this isn't what I signed up for. I will on the other hand have people coming over for a tool party to learn how to properly use tools so I know people will get hungry. I've decided I'll get some coupons and buy SB products for my other party. Then I'll get there opinions and post them. I sure hope that this After Party deal works out, I'm only doing it because it will guarantee me to be a host in the future.

Inappropriate?I think this is a great chance to get my friends together! We're always looking for a reason to PARTY!! LOL. All of them know that the parties I throw usually have a product theme... thanks to Houseparty. We all enjoy each other's company and learn something new. I can't tell you how many times people tell me that "this is something I may not have wasted money on to try, but since it was here at the party I will buy it in the future." I think House Parties are so much fun. I'm excited to see what this one consists of. Thanks!

Inappropriate?I was confused at first but when the 2nd e-mail came out explaining in more detail i was excited & started inviting guests. I have never tried SB products before but game to give it a try. I certainly need to learn how to eat healthier & lose weight. I was going only do the on-line party but you all have given some great ideas of having an actual party or get together to give friends & family a chance to sample SB. I like the idea of having adrawing for agift basket. I think HP should at least send out coupons to all of the host to use also to give out to guests.

House Party is aware of some of the questions that our members have and we will be addressing those questions with some messaging very soon. Before we do so, we just want to get a sense of what the confusion is about so we can make sure we answer all your questions.
The AfterPartyTM is different from a House Party in the fact that there is not a party package and there is not a national party date. Rather, the AfterPartyTM is an extended continuous online consumer experience to keep you involved with the products you love. This party experience will include great insider info, tips, recipes, special offers and other prizes. When you are inviting your guests, you are not inviting them to one specific event, but rather to be a part of the experience, the AfterPartyTM.

Mark - While I think AfterParty has potential, it's missing one very key component... host knowledge of the product. As an example, I was invited to host a SouthBeach AfterParty but was rejected from the actual HouseParty. How on earth am I supposed to provide any kind of hospitality to my guests when I have limited or no exposure to SouthBeach products. The AfterParty should either be opened up to people who actually hosted the party, or at a minimum, hosts who were rejected from the House Party but are scheduled for the AfterParty should get a kit to test the products and be able to talk about them. Just like I wouldn't expect you to host a party (online or not) for feminine hygiene products, you (HP) shouldn't expect people to be excited about a product that they haven't tried.
In order to make AfterParty better, you need to arm your hosts not just ask them to invite people to an un-party. -

I just can't afford to go out and buy the South Beach items to hold the after party. If I knew what kind of promotions or special offers we were going to get, it would be easier for me to plan a party.

Inappropriate?I'm pretty new to House Party, so I thought it was just me who was thoroughly confused. In an effort to "Do my part", I see that I'm not the only one. I wish the plan was more laid out. I to did not get into the original party so how do you what to do or not to do. I think I will be in a holding pattern until I know and understand more.

Maybe some coupons to try out a particular product from the SBD line or promo items to hand out to make people aware of what's in the product line. Also, doing a daily online recipe with SBD products to try at home or giving out weight loss/maintenance tips would be great. Thanks!

I work for a school so alot of my invites are word of mouth or handing out the fun little CD's I make from previous house parties...we all love them and I am very fortunate to be a part of this community!!

Inappropriate?HouseParty needs to set a clear point of their "AfterParty" concept. There's a definite disconnect because it's new to HP and quite different from HP's standard practice. If HouseParty could please send a blanket email to all 'selected' hosts providing more details, it would be very helpful. Here are some things I would like to know to help me make a more educated decision about how much I want to participate...
--What is "AfterParty"? A new branch of HouseParty independent of the House full of friends events we all know and love?
--Is it intended to be a party exclusively conducted online as a way to generate additional buzz?
--Can hosts expect to receive tangible items to review and talk about?
--Will it be less 'party' based and more 'individual' based like other WoM Buzz programs? (IE Receive one of the sponsored products to review ourselves along with coupons to hand out in daily conversation.)
--Outline some specific things that registered 'guests' will receive. As an example, if guests will receive a specific coupon that really makes it worth their while, TELL US! It might be the only way we can garner interest. I would be happy to post something on my personal blogs that say "Hey, I'm participating in "AfterParty" and guests will receive a coupon for a free blah blah blah. Send me your email and I'll invite you if you're interested. But just asking me to randomly ask friends to attend when there isn't anything that they can use to weigh whether they want to 'attend' doesn't make sense.

I didn't think of it this way before, but now I think 'confusion' is why some of my invited guests declined. Earlier I was at a loss for why they would decline to receive opportunities.

That gave us a little more meat to chew on, Mark. Thank you. I guess my biggest concern is that you keep saying that it begins where HouseParty ends and but it doesn't take into consideration that most of us didn't get accepted into the original HouseParty. Sour grapes for me, maybe. But moreso, I hate the idea of trying to pitch a brand that I'm very unfamiliar with. I think I'll have to take the approach that I'm going in blind, but who cares since hostess and guest alike have the chance to get exclusive offers.

I am having a blast with this party! I have bought a lot of the food and have started a group that is going to meet saturday mornings. we will weigh in, share recipes and walk together. People keep asking when the tips and advise are coming if they look at all the comments there are a ton of them, the comments are from each of us and who better to learn from but people who have the same goal as you!!!!!!! I have been on here every day and I feel like meeting my goal and excited to read everything everyone is posting. Thank you so much house party I really need this now! Inappropriate?I'm currently looking for snacks and meals that are low in calories. If SB could incorporate some written material on how to combine their products to stay within a certain calorie diet that would be very helpful and I would purchase more.
For example,
List a daily menu of SB foods including the dietry info for each meal and have it add up to a calorie amount that promote weight loss.

I feel guilty not doing anything for this party, but in my case, I am the link to technology for most of my friends and family. Also, I have no personal knowledge of South Beach. That can then be sent to the guests to follow up if there is an impact on their buying by attending a houseparty?? I know there is a follow up survey but I mean a survey down the road.

And yes, to get my friends excited, there should be an incentive. However, getting to know more about a product and what it can do for me, health wise is a plus.

Inappropriate?My friends and I have been all doing the south beach diet, this after party really got my friends and I excited, right after work on Mon,Tues and Thur, we go walking and then we hit the gym on the weekends and share new receipes and the new SB products we have tried, it has been wonderful.

He does good to join the family for dinner and when he does, I'd like to know there's healthier alternatives. Inappropriate?I have invited 50 of my family and friends to participate and they are very excited. But I am not going to upload thousands of photos for no reason - it's a waste of time. We need to have a moderator and a discussion group to earn points towards prizes. I don't think this system is effective or motivating for the benefit of the "hosts", South Beach Living sponsor, or HouseParty! It would be better if we could all earn something fun rather than a huge competition for only a select couple to achieve a prize at any cost - 13,000 points must be a whopping amount of unrelated photos to achieve!
We need to get back to the basics of sharing, learning, caring and enjoying together!

Inappropriate?I don't understand why people get on the message boards to write rude comments about others. Didn't anyone else's mom teach them if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all!

Inappropriate?I thought this was a good idea, but it has turned into a joke. I have more important things to do then post thousands and thousands of pictures that do not pertain to this party. HOUSEPARTY you are failing South Beach on this one. If they only knew...... maybe they need to be told about this....

Inappropriate?Okay, this is just not working the way it should. The plan was not well thought out from the begining. Even my guests are starting to moan about this whole after party thing. Two of my friends already told me it is a waste of their time. I would much rather get a product to share and some coupons to participate with rather than a chance to win a single prize. Good luck keeping the momentum, I can certainly see this fading fast and it could have been so much better.

Then you started the point system and leader board, but you took all the original leaders points away and started everyone at zero. What prize did you give those people before you took all there points away?
After reading the latest rules, there is 6 weekly prizes of VIP Host passes. 24 runner up prizes of 5 boxes (25bars) of south beach bars. One Grand Prize of thousand dollars.
So in a nutshell, 3 ways to accumulate points.
1) Invite people you know on-line to join your after party. (worth one point)
2) people you know, except invitation on-line. (one point)
3) Post and random photo or video. (one point)
someone viewing your photo or video, no points.

Inappropriate?mb I was on the leader board before they took all of our points away and no we didn't get anything. well they said good job. and when I asked them about it they said they invited more people after the party started so they had to make it fair. well it wasn't fair for the leader board to have our points taken. some of the ladies quit the party because they were mad about it. I didn't quit because I am enjoying the products and have been losing the weight. and you used to be able to get a point for your pictures being viewed but they changed that too. I am waiting to hear that they changed the rules again. I happy but confused.

Inappropriate?I wish that I could figure this party out. I feel so bad for tammy. she wasn't hurting anyone by posting pictures. I guess some people want to win so bad that they don't care about others. I know I have pictures on that I got from the web and I emailed houseparty and ask them to remove all of my pictures and I will start posting over. and make sure that all of my pictures come from my camera. The first two weeks of this party were so much fun and I learned so much!! I have been sticking to the south beach diet and loving it. Then I was confused by the change but I made it through and began to have fun again. now I don't know............... If they will take my pictures off for me to start over I will continue if not then I don't think so. Because a couple of nights ago the same person was commenting on my pictures being copied from the web and swearing about others complaining!!! But she deleted those comments a few hours later. Did anyone else see them? I emailed houseparty about it but she had them back off before they saw. Mark could you please let me know if there are pictures we can get from the web like south beach, exercising...etc.... or do they have to be pictures I have personally taken. I am sorry that I am confused but I am. thank you so much, robyn

Inappropriate?i believe that this could still be a great party. I think houseparty should have the policy that if you want to complain or say something negative about another host or guest you should email houseparties' customer service. not post it on the message board or the host's page. the message board is to pertain to south beach just as some have said the pictures should. I am still not sure if my pictures are ones that qualify and would love to know I'd like to add more soon. This is just a suggestion that would keep the hosts having fun and learning while not getting stressed out because some host feel they can say things that I feel are inappropriate. And some host love to try to make up their own rules and get mad if you don't play my their rules. please give us a clear list of the type of pictures we may put on. thank you robyn
and if you could add more information from south beach and ideas about exercise more to great. with pictures and for different levels from beginner to advance. thanks :0)
