While it is true that most of today's House Party offerings receive many more applicants for each party -- and that the odds of being selected thus vary more widely than ever -- it is not at all true that we are no longer selecting prior House Party hosts!
Experienced House Party hosts are among our greatest assets, and past hosts who follow our terms and conditions are encouraged to continue applying. However, we should also note that House Party and its sponsoring partners are focusing more heavily than ever on hosts whose online activities demonstrate that they are throwing robust parties-- participating in all aspects of our site, from using our guest manager and uploading great media, to blogging and using our party favors. Hosts who choose not to participate in the online aspects of a House Party event will in fact diminish their chances of being selected for future events.

Inappropriate?This was a great thing to read! I tried my best to do my best with my first party. I posted pictures and blogged about the Arm & Hammer party..
Though.. I didn't see anywhere where I could put my blog's web site url up to show that I blogged about it. I Facebook, use Blogger, and Twitter, so I'll be MORE then happy to utilize all of those if I'm chosen again for another party.
Could House Party stop taking in new people to give us newbies that are using all the stuff a chance.. LOL. Just kidding!

Inappropriate?i post picks everytime, use the page alot, answer all questions, yet miss out on all the BIG parties. it is pretty discouraging, but it is very exciting when I get a party or at least get invited to 1!! -
Inappropriate?I have been a member for a really long time and have tried and tried to be able to host a party and was only picked for one! I did throw the party but wasnt able to get back on and post pictures and tell about the party etc because I had twins the next day!!!!! I have applied for tons of parties since then and have never been choosen again. Now Im really super SUPER bummed!! I Want To Throw A House Party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inappropriate?I love the concept of house party and the application process has not been that difficult. Your customer service has been really great. Anytime I have had any questions I have been quick to get a response. One time I received confirmation but when I never received any further information I contacted Erik and he was most helpful. Couldn't explain why I had been deleted from the list of potential hosts, but the email I sent him confirmed there had been a mistake.
I have been fortunate to have been a host but have been discouraged several times for not having been chosen. Especially the Philladelphia and Cookie Swap in December. It is really discouraging when you see folks win and they never post any pictures or blogs.
But I will keep trying. Thanks for asking. T

Inappropriate?I certainly hope that you have not banned good hosts!!!! : ).
Now, the only problem I have with the online tools, there are a lot of people who do not post pics of thier kids on the net. I have to abide by these parents wishes and NOT post pics. In fact, there are quit a few of my friends who will not post thier personal information and pictures on the net at all.
I have up-loaded media, and used the other tools, but posting pics of my friends is not something I have done.
I hope this has not jeapordized my standing with HP. I have hosted some great parties.
