Dead HP dv6113... Help Please!
I bought an HP Pavillion dv6113 for school. For the first year I had it, it was working without any problems. Then suddenly, my wireless capabilities disappear. I looked online for a solution and found NONE. I had a usb adapter and used that for the next month. I kept looking online for a solution...when suddenly my laptop stopped turning on! It would turn on, with a blank screen, then continually restart itself. Sometimes, if I was lucky, when I hit the power button, it actually stayed on, but when I would restart or turn it off and then turn it on after a while, the same problem kept reoccurring.
I finally found a solution where HP let owners turn in their laptops for repairs. (They basically admitted the dv6000 series was faulty). I found that my laptop, the dv6113 was on the list for laptops that could be eligible for the free repair. And so, I called HP, got their customer service, and guess what?? I got the run-around and basically ended up NOWHERE. I don't know who was on the line, but they were rude and basically kept insinuating that it was my fault and HP had no responsibility. I couldn't just read off the url for the customer service person, but I did mention it, and they "claimed" that they couldn't do anything. WOW...so I just hung up (politely) and decided to call again another time. I did, and guess what again!??! Same deal. What is up with HP's customer service? MY laptop has been dead (I switched to a Dell and Toshiba) for a long time, and HP has THE WORST customer service I have ever encountered. (Dell used to be bad, but I find that they've changed a lot, and it's for the better). HP continues to be bad, and I encourage people to avoid an HP when possible. I have seen the same problem on a lot of forums, and a number of people have not been helped. When will HP actually provide "authentic" customer service? Is there anyone that can help at all in any way? (I'll even try a DIY if it works)

Inappropriate? You need to keep calling and emailing them. I had an overheating problem with my in-warranty dv5z-1200 CTO and after 173 emails and six or seven phone calls--one with 45 minutes on hold--got escalated to a case manager. Eventually, I got a replacement.
Good luck.
