DV2500 & DV2700 overheats and randomly shuts down. Unreliable machines and brand.
Owned two laptops - DV2500t & DV2700t. Both machines suffered from multiple problems, including overheating and random shutdowns upon GPU reaching approx 200 degrees F. Despite 3 attempts, HP support/repair never fixed the problems, and they had the gall to suggest I buy a $50 cooling pad from them after stating that the high temperatures were normal. Turns out that NVIDIA GPUs in these machines are faulty, but HP will not do right. After (1 year) warranty expiration, I have a unreliable, unstable machine. I recommend that everyone forgoes HP for something more reliable, backed by a company that takes care of the customers. Our Dell laptops at work have suffered few problems, and Dell support is always top notch.

Inappropriate?Ya this is my first Hp. I had an acer before that ran forever with no problems. I want to get rid of this laptop because it always shuts down when im doing work or playing games and its too hot to put on my lap. Not impressed and won't buy Hp again.

You should save your files before getting rid of it. It is ironic that hp calls them entertainment notebook pc. They overheat like a heater and are unstable as Charles Manson.
