HP pavilion dv6500 and HP period-don't go there

First -after only 6months,my battery won't charge then I lost my adaptor, ok my fault there. Shopping online, I ordered an adaptor from HP store. I had to call because I couldn't figure out which one it was and trusted the HP associates' 'knowledgable' experience. I should have taken this as the clue it was meant to be. Apparently the HP associate couldn't figure it out either - it was wrong adaptor and I couldn't boot up at all. Sent it back they sent me another. Well this one wouldn't charge the battery so I in my innate common sense says ok it's the battery.
I sent in adaptor and laptop to Hp WHO says sorry your not using HP product -as in the adaptor that came with the laptop which apparently is NOT listed onLine -at the HP Store -which is HP product, the real McCoy. Their tech dept apparently had one oh happy day as they concluded my laptop's problem was the adaptor not the battery. Backing up a bit, in between all this crapola -when laptop was working well enough hooked to the wall, did indicate I had a poor battery BUT I had to get Some kind of adaptor so that I could see this-maybe more than once, maybe before it kept going black. I refused to buy another adaptor from these idiots. Since then my laptop dies often, goes black whatever and of course, the battery won't charge probably because like HP, it's NO GOOD.
Get a clue Don't buy HP
