right side of my screen has gone black about 2 inches

the right side of my screen has gone black bout 2 inches with a strip of the screen showing where it should be and then another stripe of black lot smaller then the first. then there is also a strip at the bottom that's messed up showing grey stripes. the screen has also adjusted to this thinking that the edge of the screen is the black stripe. i am unable to move my cursor over it but a few different windows open up behind it. i have tryed adjusting my resolution back to its normal size but it just scrolls. any suggestions or ideas on whats wrong and how to fix it?
