GUI Suggestion - Put page number "boxes" at top of page

Many users, I think, now use the "Recent comments" view on the "Home Tab" to keep up with what comments have recently been posted.

These comments are currently listed chronologically (no threading option), with the latest comment always posted at the top of the page.

At the bottom of each page are click-able "page number" boxes, allowing a user to move forward or back to a newer or older page.

The frustration with this is that the "next page", either newer or older, always reverts to the TOP of the "next new page". For a user to keep reading comments in chronological order, a user has to (1) click the page box and (2) always then scroll to the bottom of the page to get to the "next" comment.

Adding to this, when a user starts "back a few pages", and has finished reading a page (in chronological order), the user will always be at the TOP of a page, and (1) then has to scroll (or keyboard command) to the BOTTOM of the page to "click" to get the "next page". (2) As soon as the user does that -- Bang!, the user is back at the TOP of the new, next page, and has to scroll once again to the bottom of the page to continue reading in chronological order.

One solution: Add the "page number boxes" to the top of the page, as well as having them at the bottom. I know it's getting crowded at the top of the page, but asking users to constantly pop from top to bottom of pages is, I think, worse than any design effects of crowding.

There are more sophisticated solutions, but I'll leave the description of those to others ;-)

This suggestion also applies to other "view" choices. One of the biggest drawbacks is not being able to see what page one is on -- without, again, looking at the bottom of the page.

Last, if a user is viewing, for example, page 3 of "Closing Soon", and then clicks on "Recent comments", the user is taken to "Page 3 of Recent Comments". This ought be corrected such that a user is always taken to the top of the most recent page when clicking of a different (new) "view category".
