Has the voiding mechanism changed?
The void page in My Predictions seems to have changed recently. It not only looks different, but I see that voided questions are receiving what I assume is market value, rather than the amount wagered. Is that correct?

Inappropriate? It certainly shouldn't have changed. We did do a release yesterday however voiding should not have been affected. We'll look into it right now.
Thanks for letting us know. -
Inappropriate?Hey InfernalMachine,
Voiding works as follows:
- if an open question is voided, all predictions on that question are voided and users have their stakes returned.
- if a settled question is voided, users who won as a result of the initial settlement retain their winnings*, 'losers' from the settlement get their original stakes back.
Hopefully what you're seeing is explained by this - does that clear things up?

Inappropriate? No. Not cleared up. What I'm seeing under void predictions is three columns on the right side, "I staked", "I received", "I gained". Now according to what you are saying, I should expect the majority of the "I gained" column entries to be zero, because more questions will be voided before being settled than the other way around. Now some of these numbers are zero, but about half are not. The void shows me making a profit on the wager. As an example, the Kibaki question about whether he would step down or not was voided recently (and never, according to the question history, settled) because there was no date specified. I have wagers on this that show a profit, and others that show zero profit.
Are the non-zero entries also possibly cash-ins on questions that were subsequently voided? That would explain what I'm seeing, as well as perhaps a question or two that was voided after settlement. -
Inappropriate?"Are the non-zero entries also possibly cash-ins on questions that were subsequently voided?"
Yes. Cashed in predictions on questions that are subsequently voided currently show in the 'Voided predictions' sections, because it gives all of your predictions on questions that have been voided.
I actually think that should change because it's confusing, so predictions only show in one section (i.e. the cashed in ones you're seeing there will only be in 'Cashed in', and 'Void predictions' will be ones voided with questions).
We'll address this in the next release. Thanks for noticing it. -
Inappropriate?Thanks. Now I get it.
How about only automatically listing the questions that were voided, with a "+" button when we want to see the individual wagers? That might be good for all the various tabs inside My Hubdub. Lots less to send and lots less to wade through. Just a thought. -
Inappropriate?Just a thought. Elsewhere there's an ongoing discussion about clawing back cashed-in predictions that are later voided. Perhaps that's why they have been moved. See my idea below for a way to clean up the page. All you'd need to do is have a mark or text colour to distinguish cash-ins from straight voids.
