Hubdub Question Reminder Tool
Hubdub should create a tool that allows users to "flag" questions for themselves to revisit on a date closer to closing time.
I, like many users, tend to shy away from questions with lengthy closing dates because they tie up H$ too long and stagnate quickly. However, many of these questions are very interesting and I would like to wager on them except for the aforementioned problem. By sorting through "closing soon" users are confronted with a large number of questions in which they have no interest AND they would have to dig pretty deep to find one that is say a month out. This presents the following problems:
1) users don't wager on questions that interest them
2) markets stagnate and lock in the bettors
3) the site gets choked with a high volume of low activity questions
Here is how the proposed tool would work:
- an icon on the question page allows the user to flag a question for future review
- by clicking the icon the user is prompted to specify a single date or scheduled dates upon which the question will be presented to them again in the future
- a link to these questions would then be posted on the "My Hubdub" page so they can periodically review or modify the settings for the questions
- when a question review date is reached a message will appear to the user upon login, much like the "challenges received" message
Would anyone find this of value? Is there a better way to do it or a modification that would make it more useful?

Inappropriate? We had certainly thought of the first part of your suggestion, giving users the ability to bookmark questions. I would be interested to know what other users thought of the other elements.

Inappropriate?Hrmm, I like the first part, not really the second part, but maybe they could tie this into the "Dashboard"

Inappropriate?I like both parts of the idea, the bookmark and the alarm-type notification. Many's the time I have wished to review a question 15 minutes before it suspends, or tomorrow morning after I get some much-needed sleep. The possible uses for notifications are endless.
I’m liking Markov's idea.

Inappropriate? If we could have a way to look at these on the my hubdub page, and then be able to sort them based on date or category that would work.
I really want this feature, and think it will be very useful to getting activity spread across a wide range of questions. -
Inappropriate?Nigel,
Any decision yet? Maybe give it a test run on a sample group? -
Inappropriate?Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestions. I see two features here (1) a basic bookmarking of interesting questions that could be viewed as a list in My Hubdub; (2) a reminder feature within the bookmarks to actively flag up questions at certain points. (1) has come up in discussions a number of times and is on the roadmap (it will probably form part of the dashboard, although not necessarily from its launch). (2) may not be needed if we, say, we sort bookmarked questions by close date.
