oohhh wiki! That sounds dangerous...
Two more ideas, (I've mentioned elsewhere):
1. Tagging your own questions.. for instance tagging all the VP questions as VP so in when you're reviewing your bets you can look at all of them at once.
2. Rating or digging questions so there is some way to see good questions other than amount of h$ running through them.

I'd like: (more important ones in bold)
->A way to set reminders sent by email at a specific time for a particular question
->A way to mark a question for future reference.
->Information on pages of new shouts (like the challenges thing)
->More, newer and better implementation of categories(i mean like "most active" and "newest")
->An automated question creator which allows repetition of a question with a few minor changes like suspend dates. (eg Team A vs Team B- Who will win on dd/mm: enter A,B,dd,mm OR <index name="true"> - will it close up on dd/mm:Enter index name and dd,mm)</index>
I’m happy. Are you?

Inappropriate?I would like to have a customizable home page in which I chose the categories and how many questions per category I can see. I would like to be able to choose new questions appearing on the home page, as well as questions I flag to wager on later (that is an idea suggested in another thread).

Inappropriate?- I'd like to have RSS feeds for these various lists.
- I'd like to have an WebService interface, so i can build my own desktop application
- I'd like to have the Market detail-page load faster (separate content from the "details", "comments", "news" tabs into ajax requests which run only if the user changes the active tab or load asynchronously after the page itself has loaded completely)
- I'd like to have the new open predictions list pushed further and applied to the other lists. what really is missing here is the progress indication (busy.gif) and the paging functionality
I’m happy, putting ideas on a wish list

Inappropriate? This is a great idea. Behind me on the wall is 5 posters with about 50 sticky post its each one of which has a product idea. I'm currently trying to figure out a way we could share that with you and everyone could add to it and discuss. I think a wiki might be the best solution. I'll try to have something up this week.

Inappropriate?Information for how many questions you actually predicted correctly. Maybe even a leaderboard that shows this information. For example...
Question 1 has two possible outcomes, yes and no. If you choose "no" and it is settled as "no" than you your prediction score improves by "1"
Question2 has three possible outcomes, yes, no, and blue. If you choose to wager on all three outcomes, than no matter what you're prediction score would improve by .33.
If you cash out, than no increase would occur.
This would be in addition to the $H leaderboard and the % increase leaderboard. This would obviously grow more slowly but would encourage placing wagers on as many questions as possible and would also reward those who are making single outcome predictions more heavily than those with multiple predictions.

Inappropriate?Hello!
I am relatively new at Hubdub, but enjoy it a lot. I have a few suggestions, though, to make it even more attractive.
First of all, I would lik to voice support to jarrod's concept of an alternative ranking-system based on accurate predictions rather than on $s alone. Some people enjoy this website rather on this base than as a kind of stock-exchange. Market analysts will always steamroll over these.
Now to my ideas:
1. Long term predictions are fun and interesting - unfortunately they don't have a high return on investment, because I can rather risk $ on a daily base on earthquakes in Canada or the Dow Jones to make the money go round.
So...how about something like a (low) "interest rate" for money which rests in a prediction e.g. on the first human on Pluto?
2. Correct predictions are being rewarded....even logging in rewarded. But what would hubdub be without interesting questions?
I propose a sort of Tobin-tax which is given to the creator of a questions. E.g. they get a fraction of the bets (something between 0.1 and 1.0% maybe). This would encourage the imagination of appealing questions!
Greetings,
J.C.Höa

Inappropriate? Thanks for the suggestions, these are great. Unfortunately the wiki idea is going to take a bit longer than I thought. Still trying to figure out how it might work so in the mean time keep posting here.
Some of the problems we are trying to solve at the moment are:
1. Better default sorting of questions
2. Ability to watch questions
3. Incentivising question creation
4. Getting more action on longer term questions
There is some good ideas above that would improve these problems. I like the idea of users being able to bookmark questions. Then we could switch the default sort to most new bookmarks in the last 24 hours. To get an idea of what the front page would look like, which questions would you bookmark?

Inappropriate?I'd like to have any notifications about settlement or review request answers posted on my profile rather than receiving an email.
i don't check my inbox often and i oversee sometime mails in my spam-filter (that's where your mails initially are sorted out, also because you use different accounts/domains).

Inappropriate? If a Q is closed (settled or void), i would like to know afterwards what my predictions were on them.
So i'd appreciate a view on the Q page listing my stakes, like they are shown now on open Q's.
Surely the appearance should be accordingly show a deactivated state. Something like the stakes which cannot be cashed-in ("Too soon" or "Suspended"). The same could be done for cashed-in predictions.

Inappropriate?- The textarea in which the Background info is edited should be much larger, so more of the written text can be seen at once.
- The options should have an optional field for a short explanation of the specific option
- Before actually creating the market there should be a preview so i can read the market, do additional spellchecking and look for completeness of background-info, settlementdetails, options, logical correctness etc

Inappropriate? So I have been holding on to this suggestion cause I didn't want to sound like I was complaining about having alot of money to wager. But could we please get buttons for 500 and 1000k bets, and up the 10,000 amount to wager at one time.

rich bitch......just kidding.....I use a Firefox extension.....it gives me a dropdown menu. There are several different ones available. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for introducing the confirmation screen. Keep up the good work!
I hope you will keep on improving the site by implementing our wishes :-P -
Inappropriate?Another Idea: Make the friends shown on an users profile in random order such that not only the newest five accounts are shown over and over.

Inappropriate? Can we please select whether or not we want the new prediction screen. It is a pain in the ass. There is no option to return to question, I have to use back button on browser to go back to question. I don't understand the purpose of the screen, It seems just another chance for us to invite other users to bid on a question.
I’m tired of new things that don't make the game work better, just look better

you can turn it off -- whereever you manage which emails you want to get, you can say where you want to go after you make a prediction... (i found it annoying too, but it might be helpful to new users) -
the question has a link to itself on the prediction screen - that's how you get back -
Jenniandboys is right, the purpose of the new screen is to help new users understand the game. Destry, if you go to Site Settings in My Hubdub (http://www.hubdub.com/p/MySiteSettings) you can select where you want to go after making a prediction (fourth item down). -
I like it to preview what the news results will be and to have a quick overview of it before I release it. -
Inappropriate? If you’re a Firefox user then you can try Update Scanner. It’s an extension that lets you monitor webpages for changes. You have an option to choose how often the website should be checked for changes, and whether it should ignore the minor ones, such as the changes to numbers.

Inappropriate?I think one MAJOR design flaw is my lack of hubdollars ^_^
in all seriousness I think the game is great, however the Tobin-Tax idea for the question creator and the buttons for larger amounts sound very, very good. Oh and bookmarking questions too...
Maybe you could have another tab in 'My Hubdub' that has 'Last 5 Questions seen' (and we could choose between none, five, ten.. etc)
I’m excited!
-
Inappropriate? Can we get an icon on the question wherever it is displayed in a list, which indicates whether we have made a prediction on that particular market?
