Sort and search your open predictions
Hey everyone, we've just released a new sortable and searchable view of your open predictions to help those folks who have large numbers of predictions to track.
It's not the default, but is accessible via the new link at the top of My Open Predictions in My Hubdub.
Please let us know either here or via the contact form what you think of it. We're particularly concerned about how it performs for users with large numbers of predictions, speed wise. Is it acceptable as is? I guess the reaction may be that it's not as speedy as we'd like, but at least it's better than what was there.
Cheers,
Tom

Inappropriate? This is great! I've been waiting for that for a long time!
Now we need PAGING :)
And I'd like to have a column which tells me the percentual gain on a prediction ... would that be possible?
Keep up the good work!
I’m very happy

Inappropriate?Sortable predictions are working average. They look great, but they don't actually filter anything, even from the dropdown menu..Is it something with me, or is yours like that too?
I’m thankful,happy,confident(dunno for what though)
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for the suggestions - you're right, paging and % gain would be great additions. We'll add the % gain once we redesign My Hubdub to have the left menu on the top so there's more width to fit the column in (think of the folk with small screens). Paging may be a while unfortunately, as to get its benefits from a load-time perspective we'd have to modify the sorting and filtering code significantly.
-
Inappropriate?well, you must differ sorting and filtering
- sort the column by clicking on the column-header.
- filter the entries in the list by selecting a criterion from the dropdown and than enter a value to which the entries must match on.
this works in an AJAX style, so the page doen't reload. it causes a bit of delay, you must be little patient on that. Maybe it would be good in a sence of usability to show some response to the user (a "busy"-gif would do).

Inappropriate?Hey Tom - I like it so far.
It would be nice to be able to move them around myself though - maybe some kind of tagging or folder system. There are some bets that I intend to keep for the long haul and others I'm just waiting for an uptick in the market. (Really 40% of Hubdubbers think Barack is leaving by April 30???) I would like some way of putting the long term predictions 'off to the side' so they don't clutter and I don't forget and sell them by mistake. A tag or a different folder would be great for that.
I’m happy about the progress
-
Inappropriate?Thanks, got it..
-
Inappropriate?the questions appear too jumbled up...would be nice if you could space them out for better readability..otherwise looks fine.
-
Inappropriate?I think the priority should be sorting questions based on categories. I will read some news and then wonder where my predictions are on certain topic or category. The page takes a while to load and the predictions on the same question need to be grouped together. I have gone back to the old prediction screen, I would like to see what the current odds on the question are from the prediction screen.

Inappropriate?ive already requested that ...check out the idea i shared
-
Inappropriate?I find it really slow. My browser (firefox) pops up a slow script warning. Have gone back to the old version. Like the "busy" icon idea from kruijs. Categories, please!
-
Inappropriate? This will also be available on the other (supsended, closed, cashed in) lists too, right?
Than on the settled list it would be nice to be able to sort by settlement date, so I can see where all the cash came from since my last login... -
Inappropriate?That's correct.
-
Inappropriate?Tom, I contacted you through the leave feedback, tiny text box, and asked you to email me, which you did. I _really_ am working 24/7 (okay. maybe more like 12-13/7, but taking Easter off 8^), so I never got back to you.
kruijs (is that equivalent to Chris in English, in some other language?, sorry, not a flame, just a random thought. I've posted before how I think in very non-linear ways 8^), has asked for my number one thing, to be able to sort on the amount to be gained/lost relative to investment. I'd like to be able to sort on multiple factors, like amount to be gained and suspend date, or maybe more appropriately, in my case, amount to be _lost_, and suspend date.
The other thing that's been bugging me about the sortable list is that it doesn't appear to remember how I had it sorted . So I sort by Close Time, go and look at the question I was predicting, hit the Back button, and the list is once again in some random order, so I have to sort it again,
I'm sure I'll have more suggestions as time goes on, and if Hubdub publishes an API, I might quit my day job and form a company with ltmod selling Hubdub addins for the HubWealthy (must be paid in USD or Euros, though we might speculate on Iraqi Dinars 8^)
I’m _not_ kidding about Iraqi Dinars, I'm seriously wishing I had bought some 5 years ago
-
Inappropriate?Wow, you still actually _read_news? In between work, family, and Hubdub, I don't have time to _read_ the news, I'm too busy HubSpeculating on it!
I’m kidding, but I admit I was more of a news junkie prior to Hubdub
-
Inappropriate? You're right. That's one of the drawbacks when implementing AJAX style (web 2.0) stuff. It can be solved with an extra effort though.
And no, my name (it's my last name actually; well the important part of it) is Dutch and could be translated to "cross" rather than Chris.
I’m serious saying it would have been clever to buy EURO for your US Dollars somewhere back in 2001 or 2002 :)

Inappropriate?Similar to InfernalMachine's comment, I continually get "script stopped" or "scripting error". Let me know if you want the error, and I'll send it to you.
While the features of the sorting are great, the function is rather crippled by not being able to refresh the page (perhaps more important for "Closes In" than any other column).
