Strike
Today, 3/14/08 is the last time i will be logging in for awhile because I am beginning an independent strike. Users such as crudsy and orlin have been growing their net worths at pretty much impossible rates. There is no possible way they can increase their net worth soo quickly given the time it takes to settle most bets. Clearly, they either both have several accounts? or maybe they are the same person? this way they can place bets back and forth to sway bets and give higher cash out values. This is completely unfair and ruins the system. I think there needs to be a monitoring of accounts from IP addresses. If there are multiple accounts under a certain IP address than the accounts need to be checked in order to see if the same questions are being bet on. If so, than penalties must be issued.

Inappropriate?Stephen, your idea on seeing if IP addresses bet on the same question is ridiculous, my father (anaverageamerican) and I are on the same IP address, what if Nigel (just an example) challenges us both to a question and we bet on it differently, will we then be one person cheating and be banned!?
Maybe someone is just jealous that they don't have as good betting strategies.

Inappropriate?If you actually analyse the top users rate of net worth growth I think you will find that it has slowed down rather than accelerated. I think this is purely due to the challenge of managing a large amount of money. It is much more difficult to double your money when you have H$100,000 than when you have H$10,000.
There is no evidence that any of these or in fact any of the top users are gaming (and we do conduct regular checks). The secrets of fast net worth growth are generally high activity and some of the gems outlined here:

Inappropriate?haha..u must be new here..i havent heard this issue since the fun wild west days...i have cut down my participation alot because there is way too much leeway in the settling and interpertation of questions and having to be a lawyer to figure out some stuff..it is also too ez still to have one person who is losing find a way to influence a settlement..it is just more work than fun than it was but i do enjoy the site just pretty much only wagering on sports due to the instability of questions which may not be simple yes or nos and can be actually settled as both..i only have one account and dont know who orlin is but thats ur choice to strike..lord knows we have had that b4..u should if u can go back to the threads..alot of them r more fun than predicting right destry?..:) -
Inappropriate?I agree crudsy. I don't think crudsy has ever cheated. I think there can be some great fun on the getsatisfaction threads. I think it is regrettable that people are so jealous by anothers gains that they simply quit, but hey whatever floats your boat. I think Hubdub should delete thier account so this disgruntled user can't screw up stuff on the way out.

Inappropriate?well stephen i think you should spend your time learning what is and what isn't funny. you hear it all the time, it akes all types for the world to go around, and i guess for every non asshole in the world, there has to be one to offset them.

I too was wondering how the big time money makers were doin it. Crudsy seems 100% legit, no gaming goin on.
Same with Orlin. I suspected Orlin for a brief bit because of how much he was making so fast, and trying to follow how I think most of it comes from playing the Asian/Europen market questions, majority asked by elly and orlin, seem to be big money makers for them. The open up/down, close up/down questions on these markets seem to be the way to make the HD$.
Seems like fewer people following (here in the US its the middle of night), so less betting the outcome which makes room for your 10k bets.
The Asian/European markets seem like the outcome is pretty much determined much earlier than the DOW or Nasdaq which makes your big bets hold up majority of time.
Just my opinion/observations, and dont suspect or think anyone is cheating.
I was just trying to help stephen understand how orlin is the huge quarterly gain leader.
