Suspend Date/Time Bug
When creating new questions, setting settlement dates don't always "take" when the question is finally published.
This seems to be an intermittent problem -- and may explain why some questions that *need* settlement dates don't have them ... the author may have set one, but it didn't take.
One example was:
<http://www.hubdub.com/e/Market/Will_a...>
In this instance I sent an email to Hubdub, and Rob Jones took care of it (and noted it might be a bug).
I just noticed the same problem in a new question by another user:
<http://www.hubdub.com/e/Market/Will_t...>
(see comments).

Inappropriate?Not to nitpick, but the date set is the suspend date (when betting stops), not the settlement date (when the question is decided). Some questions require a specified date by which an event may have taken place (which should be stated in the question itself, or in the background text, or in the settlement details), and this implies a settlement date as soon as possible thereafter (or sooner if the event happens before the "by when" date).
Haven't noticed this bug yet, but have noticed that the question creation page and especially question submission load/upload times are very very slow -- to the point where you wonder if the server's down and your question hasn't got through. -
Inappropriate?You're right -- I ought to have said "suspend date".
Thanks for the catch!
(also agree on the s-l-o-w submission time) -
Inappropriate?i had this happen to me once too and ended up asking for it to be voided since the question could no longer be answered with a no and other people posted duplicate questions by the time i realized it...figured i was going crazy since it never happened before or since to me.
I’m tired

Inappropriate?TruthWrangler,
This seems to be a definite bug, typical beta!
InfernalMachine,
You are correct, the question creator may select a suspend date, but not a settlement date (now I know how you got towards the top of the leaderboard 8^)
I’m a beta tester, but I'm happy the developers want to listen

Inappropriate?Thanks, I'll log that one.

Inappropriate?Just wondering ... can this forum post topic be edited to "Suspend Date/Time Bug" ?
-
Inappropriate?Nigel,
Is there any expected fix date for this bug? Or some way of communicating with the appropriate HD admin to get the suspend date edited? I have two open questions that I thought might be controversial, and were pretty well thought out, that totally suck without a settlement.suspend date.
Since making H$ is so difficult, I take a lot of time browsing questions and looking at the settlement details. Most of them are terribly ambiguous, but wind up getting settled anyway. I try to keep my questions to a higher standard, and I'm depressed that my carefully calculated suspend date is missing.
I’m depressed my questions aren't the masterpieces I intended

Inappropriate?I will escalate this one and get an estimated time to fix.

Inappropriate?Hi guys, we'll look into this one and try and get it resolved early next week. Thanks for flagging it.
