When I flag a question I think its imperative that I can further refine my action by stating the specific reason.
It would be even better to be able to address the reason with a text box so I can add detail.
Lets say I object to the wording of a specific answer in a multiple choice style question. My specific issue could be rectified by the questioner without voiding the entire question.
When my first question posed was voided I had no information as to why. It would be very helpful if at minimum the current three categories for deletion could be specified by the person flagging the question.

Those are very good points. Once we feel the algorithm is starting to get it right I expect we'll publish it. We want to make the system as fair and transparent as possible.
At the moment, the system is registering the number of flags, which places questions in a 'to void' queue. Category editors can step in to speed up the process or stop it. Ultimately, we would like to have it so that no manual intervention was required.

We're continually refining this as we go along, so the number of flags required for a void has been changing. The system also looks at who is flagging the question before deciding whether or not to void.
Generally, we are finding that questions that follow the guidelines in the Good Question Guide don't get voided.

Hi,
Great idea.
We are currently working on a system so that when you have a question voided you will be sent an email to notify you plus a link to a page where we can edit it and re-publish. That should hopefully go in this week.
Letting users add a reason to the flag will take a bit longer but currently category editors can add some text to the outbound email after the system has voided the question. I'll ask them to add some commentary on why the question was voided.

Inappropriate?"Letting users add a reason to the flag will take a bit longer" I hope this comes to pass and I like the rest of your response. Further refinement will evolve I am sure.
Also what is the specific criteria for suspension or voiding? How many flags does it take to suspend a question.

Inappropriate? But clearly there needs to be some criteria for removal. I think the site needs to have clearly defined thresholds. If this site is ever going to evolve into a "reward" based system people will demand very clear rules.
I still have a question out there that has just disappeared from my creation categories. If I dig deeply I can find that it has been suspended but it does not appear in the voided or suspended categories on my profile or open questions I created or any sub category.
I do not think this system can succeed without the ability to rebut suspensions and removals. Be careful in giving to much power to the editors. User generated systems have the appearance of being a more fair. Whether they are or not is open for debate. I think a hybrid of the two would be ideal. An arbitration board made up of users and, editors and employees might work. I actually was under the impression that removal was solely generated by users when a certain amount of flag reach a tipping point.
Confusion will be the biggest hurdle to user satisfaction.
I know this is a public beta and I am very confident the kinks can be worked out.
Keep up the good work!
