Any chance of a networking capability?
Is there any way to know what another user is huffduffing without subscribing? Something like delicious, the bookmark service. Often, subscribing to a person with similar tastes will cause a lot of duplication of audio. At present, I have to follow people's podcasts via RSS, then investigate each link individually and huffduff it again if I'm interested. A delicious type model would be a wonderful way of discovering new audio

Inappropriate?I'm very sorry it's taken me so long to respond, Fergal.
To be honest, I'm in a bit of quandary. On the one hand, I take your point that it would be quite handy to get an aggregated feed of everything huffduffed by people you find interesting (minus anything you have already huffduffed yourself). As you rightly point out, the way to this would be to somehow mark people as being interesting/following/friending.
On the other hand, that smells like a social network to me and one of the things I wanted to avoid with Huffduffer was creating yet another social network where you have to go through and find all the people you already know on other social networks.
I'll have a look at the Delicious model. They're usually very good at figuring this kind of thing out (without turning into yet another social network).
Thanks for letting me know that this is something you'd like to see: that's very valuable feedback.
I’m pondering

Inappropriate? There is a sidebar that says Similar People. How is this list of people decided? Tag similarity?
-
No, the Similar People list isn't generated from tag similarity; it's generated from overlapping taste in huffduffed files. So if I've huffduffed a lot of the same files as you, I'd probably show up in your list of similar people.
