Annual monitoring

In previous years when renewing my prescription I have often received a note with the drugs requesting me to make an appointment for annual kidney function test and cholesterol test, plus blood-pressure monitoring. This year I have received no such request. Does this mean these tests are no longer needed or do I need to initiate them myself?
