Is it possible to log onlick requests?
I'd like to be able to catch onclick event requests to Omniture or Google Analytics before they disappear. I can't seem to work out how to do this?

Hi Robert & Hamish,
I will review the sidebar user interface completely. There will be a tree showing all calls, clicking on it will expand the tree and reveal the tags for that call. I will also keep track of which branches are open or closed so they will show up in that state by default. For example, if you open a SiteCatalyst branch, new ones being added will be opened by default.
I think this will solve most issues related to tabs and preferences of which tools should be shown. What do you think?

Inappropriate?Hi Hamish,
you mean your onclick is doing a call to Omniture or Google Analytics and then immediately send you to a different page? Since WASP will refresh the sidebar when loading the new page you loose sight of the onclick event. I see what you mean. I will look into it.

Inappropriate?Yes that's exactly right. You can sometimes catch it if you are quick with the escape key, but that is not a great solution. Thanks!

Inappropriate?Rob Blakeley thinks this is an issue also. One solution would be to have a list of calls for the session (without the detail), click on an item in the list and the tab populates with the name/value pairs.

Inappropriate?Has this feature been added? I recently purchased WASP Pro hoping that I could log clicks on the site. I am using this tool to validate WebTrends tagging across the entire website and most buttons and links are missing WebTrends dcsClick tags. Is there any other way to log those clicks if this feature has not been added?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?WASP will register onclick events when you navigate, but the crawler doesn't actually look for specific "onclick" code. If I get it right, you would like WASP to check the source code and see if there is a specific WebTrends onclick event? By default, when using WASP Pro to crawl a site, WASP logs tags that are present at the page level.

Inappropriate?Yeah, if the onclick code is triggered then the user is immediately taken away from the page, the onclick event cannot be viewed before it disappears.
I would suggest keeping a second tab (or menu option) which can display all the requests from the previous page, this would be useful beyond the onclick issue as well.
Cheers

In fact, I want to change the sidebar so it will show an history of the calls rather than page by page info. This will solve the refresh issue. I'm working on it right now. -
Inappropriate?I have always been able to get around this issue by having 2 firefox windows open, 1 for the sidebar (stretched across the whole window), and the other I browse in. The other open window was always able to show me all the onclick calls, each call was a separate tab in the sidebar. One problem, I just upgraded to firefox 3.5.2, and now this function stopped working, any idea why? Thanks, Wayne - waynemwyatt at gmail.com

You had an interesting trick I didn't know about!
I guess this will be resolved in the upcoming release, where I'm changing the sidebar view to make it easier to accommodate on-clicks.
